Ginger's look into science/psychology
This journal will be filled with my findings as i spend my summer researching deeply into the wonderful worlds of science and psychology. This is merely for fun.
Media and how it effects you
Turn on the TV, surf the internet, excavate the radiowaves. All of these items are todays main sources of media. Society is obviously overrun by Hollywood's themes, or by their favorite musician. When I say this I especially shift my eyes towards todays youth.

Even though I am still practically known as "a youth", I feel that I have a grip on what media does to my peers, and even adults. Even in history there is a pattern of media controlling society rather than people going out and discovering themselves. All of this leads to is the use and value of money, in my eyes of course. This concept is fully opinionated, but I believe back-up information in a necessity in a kind of arguement like this.

Shows like 'MTV Cribs', 'Pimp My Ride', and 'My Super Sweet 16' are all perfect examples of media that demeans the value of our currency. People, not just celebrities, throw cash around like confetti. But what about the people in this nation, or even in the world, that work hard for their well earned money? These little brats on 'My Super Sweet 16' is the best example. 'MTV Cribs' just shoves it in your face that they make more money than you by living their possible dreams, and 'Pimp My Ride' isn't that bad at all, they do help people that do have poor looking cars. But the people only care they only have poor looking cars due to socities values on tangible objects. But either way you look at it, they help "less fortunate" people gain a nice car and a huge ego boost.

But anyway, 'My Super Sweet 16' is a "reality" show that goes around to girls Sweet 16 parties that are huge, cost a lot of money, and most likely expect drama. These girls cry if their new Mercedes Benz has the wrong color tint in the headrest of the cars. Personally, I work hard for my money, I type as fast as I can, and take all the care in the world on my work. Hell, I even save my change with my girlfriend, but that is besides the point. But other people viewing this show, especially youth, are going to want the same thing. Remember being a little kid and wanting that cool toy they displayed on TV? I believe this is the same aspect, just higher in price and in age. Having a Sweet 16 is great, but it shouldn't go as far as getting a TV show for it to make viewers jealous.

The music industry even adds to this demeaning. In my eyes, especially the hip-hop scene has made it the worst. My arch enemy in this subject - Fifty Cent. With "albums" titled 'Get Rich Or Die Trying" made me sick to my stomache. Give up life for some green paper is my basic translation. Now look at a majority of todays youth in school, they dress the same, act the same, and look up to these people they think are heroes. I also personally believe that the music scene has altered the crime percentage for the worst. I hear about crime getting worse all of the time, and what do I see in the movies? People doing their jobs in a store and getting held at gunpoint. Putting this as the schematic model for making money for todays youth is bound to increase crime.

Even in movies like "Fight Club", where the meaning of the story was more than the cover, crime occurs. Even though the crimes were sometime for the best of a person, people are most likely bound to also try this manuever in todays life. Putting a gun to someones head isn't morally correct, and it is psychologically manipulating at the same time. This is just another example of Hollywood manipulating society today. I recommend that in violent movies with strong underlying motives should be stated at the end of the movie in a text based format that is clear to the viewer, no matter how 'unintellectual' the persona is.

This article wasn't made to be lengthy, yet it was written to be short and to the point. After my series of examples and reasoning, I am sure my point gets across to most of the readers. Media and money affect every aspect in society, and in basic reasoning, this is easily understandable and mindfully coherent.

a lot of mainstream artists will do things to get attention. making these things seem harmless to youth. thus causing a change.

the youth changes every day. as well as adults.here are a few of the main changes:

1.different clothing
2.less moral value
3.less respect of authority
4.different views on the value of money and time
5.language
6.overall appearance
7.activeness or laziness

these are just some major changes the media causes every day.

even though the life of the stars is not something that is ideal we still idol it and worship it as if it were the best way of life.
