Oh Canada Day..
Well it's Canada Day!

I just came back from my dad's friends house where we had a barbecue. At the barbecue I realized and thought up things. I realized I'm not exactly my dad's ideal son. He'd never say it, but I can tell. I hope to not sound over dramatic or anything but at the barbecue I sat beside him reading my new book at the table outside in the backyard where the adults were drinking, talking, eating. The kids were inside but I insisted staying with him outside. I knew it was a bother to him, me being beside him reading while he's trying to party hard but I'm a shy person. Inside was a fifteen year old boy, my dad's friends son. I knew because I heard him inside with his brother who was maybe a year or two older then him. Then I see him come outside, he was tall and pretty fit with a fro hawk. Only barely a year older then me and he was so tall and mature compared to me, attached to my father. He was working the barbecue as the adults complimented him saying things to his father like. " Ohhh, your son is so amazing! He can barbecue? " And things like that. And his father would take in these compliments saying stuff like " Yeah? You think that's cool? He's a great chef, already at his age his lasagna can be compared to a restaurants! " And other things, including he's a star student, plays multiple sports and was in teams. I slouched back thinking what I have compared to him. I can draw, not even great. I can play games, oh cool. I can't say I play soccer, baseball and likes to go fishing. Those are the things my dad wishes I would do. I think every dad wants a son who's into sports, active, strong, bold, outspoken, and smart. The kid was pretty much all that.

I'm a shy timid person when it comes to meeting strangers, my dad would tease me about tht so much. Saying stuff like stop being a girl, man up. Well, not exactly that. But, you know. Stuff like stop being so shy, say something you arn't a girl.
And yes that's sexist but whatever. Main point is that my dad would prefer a boy more like that perfect kid.

After the barbecue we all decided to go to the lakes and go around in their families boats. My dad went in the truck that was holding one of the boats. He offered the two kids to come with him. I went with my dad's girlfriend. The plan was to go around the lake with the boats and watch the fireworks tonight since it is Canada Day. But my dad's girlfriend was planning to stop by home to get herself and me a coat since it was a last minute plan. Stopping at my dad's house I told her I wanted to stay behind at home. She then called my dad to get his permission. He said yes without hesitation that I was able to stay home. I picked up the phone, and hear the two boys in the background hollering and yelling at the top of their lungs in the back of the trucks as my dad was driving. He said yes without a second thought, probably forgot me after having bonding time with the two perfect superstars. So now I am here in my house alone watching the fireworks.

Besides that, what else happened today. Earlier today me and my dad went out to buy frames for my certificates I earned on Monday's graduation. We didn't find any store at the mall, but we did find a book store, Coles. I got to get 4 books, The Zombie Survival Guide, Zombie Reported Attacks, and Scott Pilgrim Vol. 3 and 4.
