ED. Ahhh... The ED. The Extended Discussion thread. This thread is home to many a great debate, from the classification methods of a wooden desk to how America is not the best country... Etc etc etc.
Yet, it always seems to be the same types of people who post there. Numerous times I have tried to establish a lasting discussion there, and numerous times, I have been completely shot down in less than 5 minutes after the completion of my thread. What is with the people there? It seems as though they are university professors that can name ratings, scores, birth dates of random people, percentages and recite complete news reports instantaneously. What the heck? Where did this spawn of... I can't even explain them. Look at the following comparison: talk2hand
A normal person:
I am cheap, so I'm not going put my money in danger by buying this horrible see-through top!
-----
An ED person:
I am parsimonious, thus I am not going to meddle and put my money in jeopardy by purchasing and obtaining this obscure transparent/opaque top!
-----
See the difference? The people there are like hungry mice fighting over a piece of cheese, shooting down whatever new topic that comes up with a minor flaw. What's more, most of them use these horribly taunting long words that have no real meaning whatsoever. These seriously damage the self esteem of many people that might actually have very original ideas, but because of earlier shoot-downs by the people in the ED, they will never want to come out of the safer, more sociable GD again.
This is why I prefer the GD to the ED, because it's actually more fun there. =D
No offense to any ED people out there. This is my opinion, and mine only. Don't like it? Well EXCUSE ME for my 'gregariousness'! It's not my fault you people are so 'belligerent'! Just be the mature people you all are and leave me alone. mad
