Radix Demulcta III: The Chronicles
The story of Prince Radix Demulcta III and his associates. A Vampire, a fox, a friend, an enemy, a lover, and a warrior.
Blue, The Last of the Dragonkin
Note to Reader: This is not my own work. This was written by Rai Elec himself, and more may be discovered soon...

Born to a race of Dragon hybrids, Rai Elec was hailed as the savior of the dying race. He was a hybrid of the legendary Platinum Dragon, however he was kept ignorant of this for the most part and was told he was a Blue Dragon hybrid, in accordance with his silvery-blue hue. Before he could be told of his power his entire village, the last of the hybrids, was slaughtered in a massive monster hunt. Rai was severely wounded and left for dead.

When he next gained consciousness Rai was suprised to find he was being tended to and looked after. During his slow recovery Rai stayed with and grew to care for the girl who had found him and looked after him. It was she who gave him the nickname 'Blue', after his hair, because he had initially been unable to speak, and so couldn't give his name. Blue married the girl and she bore him a daughter. He cared for both more than anything. Eventually the group who had exterminated all of his race but him tracked Blue down and attempted to destroy him and his family 'For the good of the world'. Blue dealt with them easily, for they had underestimated him, assuming him to be weak from not exercising his abilities often. Blue left his wife and child for a while at this point, going after the group that had gone after him, knowing his family wouldn't be safe until the group no-longer existed. Eventually hunting them down Blue was involved in a final showdown with the group's leader, who possessed powerful dragon-killing and dragon-sealing weapons. Blue eventually bested him, but at the expense of sealing the dragon within himself away.

Blue returned to his family a changed man, now practically just like everyone else he felt a bit weak and vulnerable. He decided to strengthen his mind, to make up for the lost strength in his body. Thus he started to walk the path that would lead him to becoming the legendary sage. But this loss of strength plagued Blue's mind, troubling him more and more as the years rolled by.

Eventually, as an old man, Blue was known fare and wide for his great intellect, people coming from all over to hear his advice. One such person was the Lord Chaos. Blue made the fateful bargain with him, he should have known better than to trust Chaos, who would turn a deal sour with the fine print. Chaos implanted Blue with a Shadow-Wraith in an unnecessarily painful procedure without telling Blue what he was doing. It granted Blue the power he desired, but the wraith would eventually undermine him, drive him from his own path.

After being imbued with the Shadow-Wraith Blue began to grow younger day by day as his wife and daughter continued to grow older. They eventually died, the daughter having not left behind a child, leaving a young-once-more Blue alone in the world.

After recovering from the heartbreak of losing his whole family Blue came to take a lover in the form of a dark goddess. From their union came the dark dragon god: Tiamat. Satisfied that she had done all she wished with him the goddess discarded Blue, taking the child to raise it herself, leaving Blue with the parting knowledge that he would be sterile as long as she continued to exist.

Blue grew disillusioned with the world, seeing it only as a place of spite and malice, a place he wanted no part in. Blue attempted to end his life, only to be forcibly reminded of his immortality. His body died but his spirit carried on. He existed as a ghost, living a half-life in melancholy solitude.

Eventually Sages learned how to invoke Blue's spirit and did so, asking questions of "The Legendary Sage", as he had become known. Unable to rest, and not allowed to exist in solitude he grew angry with a quiet rage that slowly built up with every invocation. He had been trapped so Blue had been unable to escape. He waited and planned, eventually happening across an opportunity. A young man had died and the Sages, in their greed, wished to find where he had hidden a great treasure. Blue demanded the body be brought before him and the Sages leave so he could concentrate. Blinded by their greed they followed Blue's demands and left him alone with the body. Blue's spirit entered the body, possessing the corpse and controlling it, at last, a body once more.
Blue, in the man's body, called the Sages back in. They clamored round him, eagerly awaiting the information they desired. They didn't notice the blade the man had acquired until it was sticking out of the head of one of the Sages. Blue, his Wraith powers now fully awakened, slaughtered them all and devoured all their souls. All but one. This last one Blue tortured to the very edges of his sanity, but not quite pushing him over it. He left, uttering a final sentence.
"Let this be warning to all who cross me, I walk this Earth once again and I tolerate nothing this time."

Slaughtering the Sages had filled Blue with a joy he had not felt in a long time, and it was a joy he wished to feel again. So he fought. He didn't fight for any one cause, he didn't fight for money, he didn't fight for fame. He fought simply for the thrill of battle.

It was when he heard a tale from Ancient China that he was taken to new levels of excitement. Apparently a five-headed dark Dragon God named Tiamat had been bringing pain, misery and destruction to all. It was the offspring of Blue and the Goddess. This was the perfect opportunity for revenge against the b***h that had betrayed Blue's trust. By defeating and sealing their offspring: the most malevolent, evil, destructive and powerful force to have graced the planet to that date. Blue fought Tiamat many times with varying outcomes until he was able to finally seal Tiamat beneath a village created for that specific purpose.

There was a great Crusade in which Blue was involved. He still fought for the sake of fighting and was impressed when he crossed blades with a powerful adversary known as Camthallion. In the matching of strength, wit and skill there was formed a mutual admiration and respect, a powerful alliance was forged in that battle, an alliance which lasted beyond the Crusade itself.

In the years that followed Blue worked closely with Cam and a vampiress called Sophia, forming the organisation known as "Shepherd". Blue was heavily involved in their campaigns and became a readily noticeable figure in many vampiric circles. Blue first met Radix in this time. The young vampire had not been long in this world and had already caught the eye of Shepherd. The depraved trio kidnapped Radix and tattooed a prophesy of Blue's on to his back, a prophecy that ultimately turned out to be false.

After a while relations within the vampire culture became strained as Shepherd's actions worsened while simultaneously naming itself leader of all vampires. At the height of this strained time Blue left pursuing rumors of a hidden vampire clan, intending to force them to serve Shepherd.

Blue found this hidden away vampire clan and discovered a race of blue-skinned winged vampires. They introduced themselves as the Ancient Vampires, the originals, disproving Cam's claim of being the oldest and the first. These vampires recognised Blue's madness and placed another seal on him, aiding him in regaining himself. He was forced to stay with them for a while and, during that time, learned many of their lost arts. With these arts and the aid of the Ancients Blue forged three weapons: Angelsbane, Demonsbane and the Genesis Blade. Each was a powerful blade in it's own right, each with it's own unique abilities.

Blue returned to Shepherd to find the whole of the vampire world engaged in a massive civil war. Blue attempted to reason with Cam, to try and help him realise what he was doing was wrong. Blue miscalculated, Cam knew exactly what he was doing and didn't care. They fought a battle that ended with Blue impaled on the Genesis Blade. Blue was partially absorbed by the blade and, weakened, was forced to flee lest he be trapped in the weapon. Cam allowed Blue his escape and instead focused on his war. With the knowledge that Blue had met with the Ancients, that they were still alive and he knew where they were, Cam eventually slaughtered them all.

Blue traveled the land, aiming to better himself and make amends for the wrongs he had committed. He learned much and helped lots of people, but he still could not lessen his burden of guilt, he had caused the annihilation of an entire race.

Not long before joining the Legion Blue fought Camthallion once more. This too ended in defeat and a narrow escape, but this battle had more dire consequences. This encounter robbed Blue of many of his memories.

When he joined the Legion Blue was unsure of himself, unsure of his past and unsure of his future. His powers wildly fluctuated as he remembered and forgot those he possessed. His memory was even worse, mixing the truth with falsehoods. To this day there are still memories missing, but he has managed to peel away the lies.... he thinks.

Concerning Radix....

Excerpt from "The Rise of Vampire Lords" - Chapter 29: Radix Demulcta III;

At the time of the 2nd Vampyre Crusade, Radix Demulcta the Third was born human to a wealthy Nobleman and one of his beautiful Entourage. The boy, being the child of a dancing girl, rather than a Queen, was cast onto the streets and beaten frequently by peers, and stoned half to death by elders. During a small battle between the vampyre forces - led by Camthallion - and the Human township, Radix escaped into the countryside on a young horse, having stolen his fathers sword. No other human survived.

The boy grew into a young man, and had learned to live by the sword and dagger, when he was sought out by Aranel Palantir - the first of the Ancient Vampyres. Knowing his time on this earth was nearly up, Aranel turned Radix in a seemingly random vampyre attack, but secretly imbued the man with a latent part of his powerful soul. Just as every other vampyre did, Radix drowned himself in the vampyre community and culture, and lived through many battles for their cause. The ancient vampyres withdrew from the world hereafter.

Excerpt from "Blue, The Last of the Dragonkin" - Chapter 13;

In the years that followed [The Crusade] Blue worked closely with Cam and a vampiress called Sophia, forming the organisation known as "Shepherd". Blue was heavily involved in their campaigns and became a readily noticeable figure in many vampiric circles. Blue first met Radix Demulcta in this time. The young vampire had not been long in this world and had already caught the eye of Shepherd. The depraved trio kidnapped Radix and tattooed a prophesy of Blue's on to his back, a prophecy that ultimately turned out to be false.

Excerpt from The lost annals of The Labella Oscuridad Vampaneze (See bestiary);

As 'Shepherd' continued their rightious action, political relations between the Vampaneze Rebels and the Nicnivian Loyalists deteriorated. With the disappearance of Maedhros [Blue], Radix Demulcta took up a prominent role in the political leadership of the Loyalist side. Then commenced the vampyre civil war. Radix and Camthallion clashed a few times - and many lives were lost - before Maedhros returned in the middle of the war. Betraying the the Noble Camthallion, Maedhros attempted to kill the Vampaneze leader. Camthallion won the fight, causing Maedhros to flee and not be seen again by the Labella Obscuridad House. Although Radix and his forces eventually won the Civil War, and exiled all Vampaneze, Camthallion quested to massacre the remaining Ancient Vampires. To this end, he succeeded.

Excerpt from "The Rise of Vampire Lords" - Chapter 29: Radix Demulcta III (Cont.);

After his heroic deeds in the vampyric Civil war, Radix had attained the title of 29th Underlord in the vampyre community, and was voted Prince by the council. (See appendix B - Vampyre Hierarchy)
With the other Princes more than strong enough to watch over the people, Radix left his high seat to travel the world. Unstable as the vampyre community was at this time, we begin to see a breakdown in it's structure. [End of chapter]

A Translated Excerpt from the "Vampiri Asiana" - Chapter 41

We see the Vampiri Radix arrive in eastern and european folklore at this time. After leaving the community of Vampiri, he travels to India. There is a legend of a pale skinned warrior who defeated a nest of 'mountain demons' meaning orcs here, for the local population of Humans. The people in return gave him animal blood, and beautiful women as servants - hailing the Vampiri as a deity. Deeper study of the legend reveals depictions of key artifacts that clearly symbolise Vampiri Royalty, including Radix's own seal.

Other legends that indicate the Vampiri Radix's presence can be found in Nepalese and Burmese lore - Though both share tbe common theme of a ghostly white man, coming out at night to drink human blood. There is even evidence to suggest his travelling through China, Japan and Mongolia.

Excerpt from "Of Werewolves and Vampires; Memoirs of Warren Zevon" - Part 3, Chapter 1;

It was then that I befriended a Vampire by the name of Radix Demulcta. My compainions and I were in Schlisselburg, Russia - some sixty kilometres from St. Petersburg on the left bank of the Neva River. It was my understanding that vampires were wholly dark, but this one was not. He was running from the organisation 'Shepherd', whom I, too, had encountered previously. Taking him in, he educated us on the way of Vampires, and their lore. He taught us that there was a house of purebred Vampires, and a house of evil, rebellious Vampires that engaged in Civil war over a century ago. 'Shepherd', the vampire explained, were instrumental in the cause of the civil dispute.

After Radix proved himself as a worthy ally in the battle of the bridge, we re-located to Moscow, and there we came across another vampire - A Female called Sophia. Identifying herself as having abandoned 'Shepherd', and wishing to join our cause, we took her in also. Sophia and Radix spent much time conversing alone, in dark rooms. After months of Travel, their relationship developed into what seemed love. Radix was weakened by her, and she fell pregnant with his child.

We were ambushed a week later as we crossed the border from Bulgaria into Romania, by the 'Shepherd' forces. The vampire Radix killed many, but Sophia betrayed him, and left with the 'Shepherd' leader, Camthallion. She hoped that Radix's child would grow into a powerful warrior for Camthallion to use in campaigns. With a heavy loss of life, we managed to carry the unconscious vampire over the border, but we were attacked again days later, and had to flee without him.

(cont from page 1) the history books earlier today. The crypt was found empty by grave-digger Andrei Ionesco at 2am this morning. "That crypt has been sealed for over thirty years." Comments Andrei. "There were never any inscriptions though...no flowers or anything. It would take more than one man to open those doors." The Police still do not wish to comment on the two girls found dead in mysterious circumstances that same morning. "The two incidents are completely un-related cases of Grave-robbing, and Homocide, I assure you." Is all the Comissioner had to say.

Radix Joined the Legion of B.A.D. at this time, after discovering the destruction of the vampire community.
