Gaia seems to be a magnet for people incapable of critical and independent thought. They refuse to examine the evidence that is obviously available, and instead seek out the common group-think that others have adopted. It angers me to no end for people to claim that they hate labels and stereotypes, yet turn around and exclaim that one <label> is hawt.
This is blatantly apparent with the obsession over gay guys. Now, I myself am bisexual, and I do find 2 cute guys going at it very attractive. However, all gay guys being cute is like saying that there's no such thing as a butch lesbian. That's just not the way things are, you can't derive a fantasy and then apply it as a rule to the world. I find that gays are no better looking on average than straight guys. Yet the average mindless Gaian girl is convinced that all straight guys are ugly, and the only good looking guys are gay. It is sheer madness and lies.
It's simply amazing how the human mind's greatest ability seems to merely be the ability to tune out the facts, draw upon false information and flawed logic and then continue on its path of thoughtless ignorance.
Case point number two, the asian obsession. This one is even more baffling than the gay stereotype. All Asians are hot, asian stuff is awesome. I've gone through this phase after discovering anime. But, newsflash, Asians don't look like anime characters, and Asian pop-culture is merely a copy of American culture, clothed in slightly different histories and disguised by an insistantce of originality. The more time you spend going to Japanese websites, the more you discover the obsession with porn. It's astounding the extent which lonely Japanese losers will feed their obsession. There's no shortage of BBS sites, which allow Japanese guys to post images and talk with each other. Some of the stuff found on these sites would scare asianphiles to death. Every bizarre fetish imaginable, seems to thrive more than straight normal sex, baffling indeed. It's ingrained into their culture by now, a general lack of firm morals, to such an extent that their mass entertainment is unrestrained and contains ton after ton of perverted content, sexual innuendos and often times blatant scenes meant to imply sex. They just seem to accept it. Which, this causes one to question the cause of this. The single answer must be the lonely Japanese male. Now, if all asians were hot, then according to the same logic, there should be no massive loneliness. And indeed, an obsessed otaku has, quite frankly, no chance of being attractive or even acceptable, due to a lack of personal care.
Once again, though, the Gaian collective thought is that anime = good, so creator of anime = good, then anything created by creator of anime = good. Is there no one around that actually sees things as they are and points them out? Well, quite frankly, you can't point it out, as once again, the human mind proves it's second most formidable ability. Whenever confronted with something it can't ignore, it must reach out to other human minds to reaffirm its ignorant beliefs.
What is the point of this rant? It's simple. Today's culture is poisoning the mindless. It teaches conformity, excludes the minority of intelligent and critical thought. Yes, every single person will deny being a conformist, but in the end, they're simply saying that as a means to sound cool, a conformist action. Without a thought, the average Gaian will declare hatred for President Bush, and that John Kerry should have won. Yet, if one questioned them about the stance of each candidate, the Gaian could nay give you even a vague idea other than "Bush sux!11oneoneone." The culture is on a railroad track headed towards a point where one must conform to thigns that are negative.

So I was watching TV when I see one of those commercials for a charity relief fund for poor and impoverished countries. So just watching it, I see all these starving children wearing tattered rags. Clearly, there's not a human heart in the world that wouldn't be moved by such sad imagery, so I set about to find a solution to the problem of poverty.
Well, it wasn't long before I decided, "Well, why not just stop people from being born into poverty?" It hit me like a ton of bricks, since you can't bring them out of poverty, so just don't let them in. Simple enough. Poor people can't have children. Make it illegal. It's totally logical, since poor people are far more likely to have 4+ children, all of which are mistreated and starving and without their own bed. This would be a great solution.
Everyone would be happy by this. The parents wouldn't have to watch their children starve, and they'd have more money for themselves. Without more kids to try to support, other relief organizations would be able to do far more per person. I'm a genius, I thought.
The first step in this, is informing the poor of the new law. As it won't do much if they just keep humping like rabbits and tossing their children in the world to starve. With a cheap information campaign informing people that they will no longer be allowed to have children and notifying them of the punishment, birthrate would be guaranteed to decline. However, lose hospital monitoring is easy, those found procreating will be castrated. The children will be taken away and put up for adoption.

No idea why I'm making one of these, perhaps it's just that at this point in time if I didn't type out these thoughts, my head would have detonated in a flash of depressing thoughts. Normally I end up not writing in journals, as no one reads them. A matter of me wanting attention probably, and thus upon not receiving the attention I was seekign, looking elsewhere for it.
As for now, however, I sit here at my computer, and essentially cut off from all human contact. Well, that is, from human contact that doesn't include myself receiving a verbal onslaught of negative comments and unneccessary pressure. Alone with only my thoughts, they waver, it's simply a matter of time before they slip back into a hole of depression, dug by my own over-analysis of what some might call a life, but I'd be more inclined to describe it as existance.
You see, life is, according to almost any optimist, a gift to be treasured. I for one don't see myself and the world around me in this way, as what I go through day in and day out is neither a gift, nor something to be treasured. It's simply a matter of travelling from one low to another, and trying to fill in any in-betweens with something other than a painful thought. I've gotten rather used to the fact that, until the day I die, this will probably be exactly the way I feel. Nothing less than terror and torment of the highest order, the prospect of the happiest days of your life having been the days when you were too young to realize how sad the world you lived in was.
