I had an honest to god dream about Yolk last night, which is ******** weird.

Tldr; It was like a kid-version of her that I had begrudgingly adopted after coming across her in these magic as ******** mystical woods.

The dream started off as a video game that I was playing but it was very realistic because it was like augmented reality? Like I was physically in the game but when I was in "admin" mode nothing could hurt me. I was on a warm water shore line first, lots of green algae on the coast and floating in the water and I was observing these tiny yet visible to the naked eye translucent squid cuddlefish things. Big eyes big head, clear bodies and little tentacles in front of the face. They all had bits of algae growing on them which made me concerned that they were sick or something. Then I saw a darker, veiny still slightly translucent bigger fish with teeth as I swam deeper in the water, and I was like oh ******** I hope it doesn't notice me...but it just kept swimming with a blank look in a suspended animation like in animal crossing where the fish are moving side to side but not moving forward? Then I realized it couldn't see me because I was in admin mode, and I got the bright idea to get out of the water by flying straight up.

Once I was out of the water another idea came to me, that the premise of the game was that you were playing as the wind and that nothing could actually see you, but you could influence stuff because you were the wind and that's just how it was. So for a while I was just aimlessly exploring these woods and all around what was apparently a tiny island, whooshing by really fast and taking in the scenery. But the woods were pretty bare and standard, just a straight pathway with straight-a** trunks and not much else.

Then I came across this girl npc who wasn't human and drawn in a cartoonish 2D in art style, which was weird because the rest of the game was 3D. Purple was her color scheme and she wore a beanie and had short hair but I can't remember much else about her. I got the idea that her personality was cheeky or some s**t, and she actually saw me as I flew by her so I stopped and we exchanged some brief dialogue. I can't remember what she said but she was in a good mood and amused. Something along the lines of my flying around?

Anyway the dream transitions here where I'm in a proper detailed forest instead of a game and I'm just walking around normally. There's a lot of moss around but it's way too lush and green, not the usual dark stuff. The forest becomes a clearing where there's a wooden play set. This is where I meet Yolk who is just hanging out there.

It's her design alright, same hair and skin color and face scar, but she's got the proportions of a child and has a child's personality. Her body is actually that of a life-sized doll, it's like got doll joints and is wooden or resin or something? I know she's artificial in the dream but I still treat her like a regular kid because aside from her body she is. I'm not sure who made her or why she's alone so I decide to hang out on the play set with her. We talk about random stuff and she's kind of a trouble maker but I never really get mad and she's not /really/ trying to annoy me. Just a kid's personality like a said. She's a little s**t but not truly bad.

The dream shifts again and I'm in my room. I brought Yolk home because I've 'adopted' her, though it's just implied as she kind of followed me home and I felt obligated since she would have been alone in the woods otherwise. I get the feeling she was abandoned by her creator and she felt purposeless so she stuck with me because I kept her company. (Which is /really/ weird, because I'M her creator, but in this dream it was someone separate from me??)

I'm on the top bunk of my bed, but instead of two beds there are three levels. I'm on the highest bed and Yolk is chilling on the bed below me and then there's the ground bed below that, unoccupied. I'm eating a cup of instant oatmeal (probably because I went to bed hungry) and I casually ask if she wanted one or not. She agrees but then I ask when was the last time she ate and she says like two months or so...And I'm ******** shocked like oh god why haven't I fed her until now and I'm angry because her creator must have not done s**t, even though I still understood she wasn't human or organic and probably didn't need to eat as often. And I'm climbing down to the bottom bunk getting her the oatmeal cup, I'm still kind of pissed and I'm like, do you remember how? (to eat) and she's indignant like yEah! Geez! And I hand her the oatmeal cup and climb back up to the very top bunk.

Then she mumbles something along the lines of, but actually...I don't really need to eat at all

And I'm just like...oh. And I wake up.

Woke up strongly wanting to do a doll custom of Yolk but with like a proper doll body and not life sized, also a proper adult body instead of a kid body but...I don't do doll customs and don't even collect dolls, it's such a weird idea to wake up to but I wanted to write down the reasoning behind that desire, because it wasn't a bad dream, just the usual ******** but not in a scary way...it was really just harmless mind junk mixed into a pot of dream noodles.

Like the video game stuff was because I like video games, the algae stuff relates to Lake Eerie, the translucent fish stuff was because of a painting of deep sea fish I have in my room that my grandma painted, the playset was because of the one I had in childhood, the wooden doll stuff is probs cause I'm a toy collector, the Yolk stuff is because she's my character on gaia, the oatmeal was because I was hungry and wanted breakfast

Like it was a weird dream but really I can see my brain having that all stuff just lurking beneath my subconscious and in this case, it wasn't presented in a nightmarish or dark way, it was just regular innocent thoughts and topics strung along into an experience that I thought was logical while in the dream.
