It's been a long time since I've been here, and even longer since I've written anything here. I really don't think anyone will even see it, but I guess it's worth a try. Earlier tonight, I started seriously writing something in a text file for the first time in a long time. And, hey, about ten minutes ago, I actually finished it. It's only a paragraph or so, but to finish anything even vaguely literary is mostly uncharted territory for me. It just popped into my head and I decided to write it down. It could very easily be the opener to a full-fledged novel, or something similar. But I decided to put it here to hear what people think about it.
Warrior. It is a powerful word. To be a warrior means to have entrusted one's life completely to one's own skills in battle. Love, family, and friendship all come behind the warrior's lust for the exquisite bliss that is mortal combat. Every ambition is little more than another excuse for battle. In this way, the warrior is more in touch with his pure humanity than anyone else. To be human is to fight, and battle is the most basic and yet most meaningful form of communication there is. No amount of talk could ever tell as much about a person as could a simple exchanging of fists. The warrior is not afraid to be human, and whether Earthling or something more creative, we're all just humans on the inside.
So that's it. I warned you it was short. But, hey, tell me what you think. And, please, be constructive? Thanks!
