Zanpakutou: Jinketsu
His Zapmpaktou is always in it's shikai state, much like zaraki and ichigo's.
Shikai:
Being a Shikai type Zampaktou, Jinketsu is simply a pair of Armored Gauntlets which respond actively to Mason's own riatsu.
Its abilities are simple. It allows mason to defend against most powerful kido abilities, physical attacks, and hollow attacks of fraccion level cero and below. It may store excess riatsu in such attacks for a short period, characterized by a grey-blue steam which comes off of the palms.
The second ability may either run off of stored riatsu or Mason's riatsu itself. Simply put, it concentrates large amounts of riatsu into destructive energy very quickly, channeling it into a shockwave or blast depending on the ammount or method of delivery.

Mason collects and releases stored riatsu by slapping the ground or any other solid object, this sends a powerful, earth shattering shockwave through the ground. The result would cause any fast moving opponent to loose their footing on the unstable earth.
Hard Puncher
Mason collects and releases stored riatsu by sending a punch towards his opponent. this riatsu multiplies the potential damage five times by unleashing a wave of destructive energy towards his opponents much like a white cero. this attack requires more power as such it takes longer to prepare.

Bio: Mason was always a fighter. While he refused to fight without reason, it couldn't be denied that he was very good at it. A deep thinker and strongly idealistic, Mason had always lived under the belief that if you were passionate about something, you should devote yourself to it wholly. Protecting others had always been his. From they day he was picked up from Rukongai, he always stuck up for others. Naturally he was accepted into the Gotei 13 as a bodyguard to the Sotaicho himself.
He was like an impenitrable wall, once he had become serious, there was no way any man below the rank of Fukutaicho would be able to get past him, It was said his flesh was like armor and his will was like iron. Being so close to the Sotaicho, he observed most of the governing processes and came to understand the structure of the Shinigami powers very well. It was not long before he set his eyes upon achieving the rank of Captain.
fifty years after his appointing to the Sotaicho's bodyguard, There came to be an opening for Captain of the 3rd Division, for which Mason Hyde was nominated by the Sotaicho himself. He quickly took the position and lead the 3rd division for many years as the second shinigami taicho to hold the rank without bankai.
However no sooner than he had reached that position, a second entity within his mind tempted him away from Soul Society. From the beginning he had seen Soul Society for the magnificent place it was, however now from atop the great position of Taicho, he was shown the corruption and deceit the Shinigami used so frequently. This voice slowly chipped at his powerful resolve until finally, he felt compelled to make a change.
He held an audience with the Sotaicho in private and voiced his concerns, pointing out the corruption and evil he had witnessed. Very quickly the sotaicho retaliated in rage, accusing Mason of being a traitor.
That night, the Sotaicho ordered the second division to assassinate Mason while he slept, deeming him as too experienced and too dangerous to simply be exiled to the Nest of Maggots or earth. However as the stealthy assassins entered Mason's Quarters, they found it to be empty.
Research into his disappearance has found that he had left Soul Society for earth late that night, he has seldom been seen since that meeting with the former Sotaicho.

Personality:
Quiet and Calm, Mason is a deep thikning, seldom speaking, driven individual with a passion for protecting others.

Mason dresses in a casual, yet urban dress, he is rarely seen not wearing a tie. He always wears his gauntlets, the permanent shikai form of his Zampaktou, not only because they match his wardrobe, but to be prepared for any attack which may occur, being a fugitive from soul society, he must always be prepared.

Sacrificing his ability to achieve bankai, Mason instead has a second Vizard form, rather than a second zampaktou form. He has done this by choosing to invest his trust more with his hollow self than this zampaktou's spirit. While his Zampaktou accepts his dominance, so does his Hollow, the result is a second hollow form rather than second shingiami form.
This form comes with a new outer appearance, Armor and black and white clothing decorate his body, his eyes are blacked out with a faint blue iris. This armor enhances nearly all his existing abilities to a Bankai level while rendering his Shinigami kidou inaccessible. The only shinigami powers he may use are those pertaining to his Zampaktou.
