chapter 1
Slowly, things are coming back………
Karisuna begins thinking to herself, "I have know for a short while that I had a love in my life. Who he was though, I don't know. Will I ever know who he was? I want to so badly I think it’s slowly destroying me”.
She goes to sleep that night in a small inn. Fitfully she dreams….
She’s walking through a hallway in what looks like an elaborately decorated mansion or castle. Looking around, she sees a large painting on the wall. She stops to look at it. A strong looking man with golden hair was sitting beside a lovely woman. With raven blue hair. They were both wearing crowns; the man’s a powerful looking one, while the woman’s a beautifully crafted one. In front of them was standing a little girl. Karisuna suddenly stopped. “This girl……she looks….just like me.”, she thinks to herself. She looks closer and utters a silent scream. The man and woman were looking straight at her, following her movements. Then she saw their mouths were moving. She closed her eyes to concentrate and could hear faintly, “Yes…….her……that is our girl”. Karisuna opened her eyes and looked back at the painting and was shocked for a second time. The girl……she was gone.
She woke up with a start. “That girl. I think…..I’m that girl. But…..who was she? Her parents looked to be a king and queen, but that’s impossible. I’m nothing special, just a girl who’s a vampire.” She smiles to herself. “A vampire. That is something special. But still, I can’t be….a princess. Or.……can I?”

He began to walk down the stairs. Still leading her by the hand. She stops, jerking her hand from him.
He looks up at her. “What’s wrong?”
“Why should I be following you?”, she asks ,” I don’t even know you. At least, I don’t think I do.”
His eyes open in shock. “Don’t know me? Do you not remember who I am?”
“No, I don’t”, she pauses, “Should I?”
He looks down in the dark of the descending stairs. “I’m sure that you should. Please, trust me. Follow me.”
She looks into his eyes, staring. “What have I got to lose?”, She thought to herself. “Maybe he can actually help me.”
He reached his hand out to her again. She reached out and grabbed it. They began to go down the stairs again. The darkness slowly began to engulf them. They walked on and on. She couldn’t tell for how long. The man began to slow, seeming as if looking for something. Finally they stopped. “Here it is.” she heard him mutter. Then a soft click echoed and a light showed, silhouetting a doorway. “In here.”, he whispered. She followed him quietly. The room was simple enough. It had a small bed in the corner. A little table had a candle burning on it in the middle of the room. A small chair was beside the bed. The walls had deep scratches all over them. Odd”, she thought to herself. The man motion for her to sit down in the chair. He sat on the bed, facing her.
“Forgive me for having nothing to eat or drink. I know you must be famished.”
“Oh, I’m okay.”
“Are you sure?”, he asked.
“Yes, I’m alright.”
“Well then",he paused. "Please, tell me where you have been and what you have been doing these past years.”

She walked through the streets, following paths she unconciously knew. The entire time she walked, she thought. Thought of the things she had seen...........and done. But these things, were dreams. She turned down a dingy little alley, littered with trash. She took a few steps and stopped. She sensed something; but what she could not tell you. It was familiar to her. She continued on her way, still thinking as she walked. Suddenly, a man appeared infront of her. She stopped and looked up at him. "He seems so familiar. But who is he?", she thought to herself. The man looked down at her.
"What are you doing here? You were never supposed to come back."
"I am searching......."
"Searching?! Here?! Why? You must tell me. Come, we will go to where I am staying."
He grabbed her by the hand and led her further down the alley and other streets. They came upon a set of stairs descending down into darkness.....
