Prologue
The sky was an angry crimson shade. Splashes of amber and a pale yellow touched the sky above Pyros. Much like the blood coursing to this organ...this heart I have been said to have. The jewels, isn't that what we all are looking for? In this...gods' forsake land of Pyros. We kill each other to keep them damn stones. Then we kill each other to keep them. Hmph, my kind of life indeed.
Who am I? You probably are asking by now. I am originally called Amisi, but most just call me Ba stet. Why? You'll find out soon enough.
"Ra~Hawk, it's time to move." a voice called to me. That was my accomplice, Majahal, but for secret's sake his name is Horus~Falcon.
"Aye we best get moving, how about that? The vendor wouldn't mind much if we hitch a ride....or take a few things, eh?"
"No I don't think he will." Majahal didn't show much feeling through facial expressions, but I could see him grinning in his eyes. I pulled the cloak over my head, dark as a blind one's vision. A shadow was casted on my face. Majahal did the same. We climbed onto the back of the wagon as quietly as mice. We waited...until the vendor came back. Majahal kept a sharp-looking, shadowed, object to his back.
"Don't move.." he threatened. The man tried to keep cool, but Majahal has the voice of such calmness. It was eerie to most, yet music to my large ears.
"Take us to...The Spot" Everyone knew what the spot was...It was the next hit. The big thing. "Do be quick though, my hand might slip..." Majahal sticked the object in deeper. The man was about to squeal, but he knew better. The man reluctantly took us there, we were on our way to freedom, again. Or so we pray to the gods...
