Using this as a holder
It's been so long since I was on Gaia full time! I mean, I've been on every day almost for the past 6 months or so, but before that it was what.... ten years? Anyways, I was going to delete all my old journal entries but.... now I think I won't. So, this post is just a place holder for a bunch of links to resources I'll likely try to order from for materials for Civil War reenacting costuming.

Molly strode silently to her quarters, her mood troubled. The handsome Admiral aboard her ship unsettled her intensely. Not that she felt threatened by him; on the contrary she knew that she was an exemplary officer of the United Military, a fact quite established by the Admiral's choice of her own ship as the base of operations for the testing they were doing with new equipment. No, the true trouble lay in the unbidden attraction she felt towards the very married man.

She was no stranger to lust surely, but she had never before felt such intense need for any man, and it confused and terrified her. As a result she refused to let down her guard in his presence. She knew by his manner that he found her bothersome, his stiff posture and rigid stance assured her that he was truly in love with his wife. All the better.

She had hoped to place Mrs. Ainsworth in the suite next to hers, to further establish the reality of his unavailable state but it was not to be. In fact she did not know how she would cope with temptation once the 'obstacle' that was his wife was off ship. Oh well. She would manage.

Quickly changing into civilian garb the Brigadier General decided to join the rest of her crew and passengers in the galley for a light repast. She often socialized with them and they seemed to like her, many of the lower officers regarded her as a friend, and she was fair with them.

The air the in galley was festive. Since the installment of the admiral and his small crew, her own had little to do; therefor they partied with the guests.

Her ship, Molly reflected, was an odd one. A military ship to be sure, but depending on her current assignment also often laden with important civilian passengers such as the eccentric Count Lionel Emerson, or her sister Senator Abigail Butterbee. There where also commoners aboard, those who were wealthy enough to travel aboard a high class military brig, such as the less tasteful Drusilla Moody, who was reputedly a high priced whore, or the ever amusing adventuring twins Marcellus and Constance Wickham who looked so identical that they were often mistaken one for the other. Her vessel was used to bring revenue to the military, since plundering, raiding, and spoiling a been outlawed by the United Republic.

She was distracted from her musings by the chaplain, Agnes Hopperton, who ambled toward her, a glass of wine perched on her delicate fingertips. Molly smile warmly at her.

"Imbibing in the Holy Ghost, Reverend?"

Agnes tittered adorably, her cheeks flush from the warmth of the room and the alcohol. Her curly topknot was askew on the crown of her head, dusty ringlets obscuring the lenses of the goggles she wore up at the moment, and her bustier was coming undone at the laces though looking still quite modest with the heavy skirt and sleeves she wore.

"The Good Book says 'Drink your wine with a merry heart.' And you know how much I love the Good Book. I haven't seen you in chapel the last few weeks General. Been doing a bit of private soul searching?"

The chaplain giggled, not knowing how accurate her words were and Molly forced a laugh.

"The master of the ship is busy every day of the week Chaplain. Even with the Admiral, or perhaps especially with the Admiral running the place I find myself with less and less time for spiritual rituals and more work than ever on my desk. Excuse me though, I see Professor Brock and I had a question for him."

The Chaplain blushed at the mention of the school master's name and Molly knew that she had successfully disentangled herself from the thread of conversation. Agnes was much too shy to follow her to the handsome professor's side.

Molly socialized for a good quarter of an hour more before deciding that she had had enough of this attempt to distract herself. The more she tried to arrange her thoughts, the more they seemed to stray, and she cursed herself for her lack of control, clenching and un-clenching her fist unconsciously.

She decided to return to her office, such as it was, now that she had been relocated from the command deck and confined to the work-discouraging albeit comfortable suite of rooms that housed her. The duty roster had been gathering dust for days, neglected in the reality that at the moment it was both unnecessary and frustratingly unimportant in the view of the acting commander of the ship, as his crew had been at her duty stations for weeks.

A flash of annoyance hit her with force; this was her ship, damn it, and he might be her commander, but hat didn't give him the right now her the lenience to forgo protocol. She would fill out he roster and file it, as dismissive as he might be, she had to keep up in her work. Besides, she felt the smug satisfaction of being more professional than he settling in already, just thinking about her work.

Smiling to herself at her own pettiness the General strode towards the exit, giving pause only to acknowledge when a farewell was spoken to her. As she reached the galley door it swung

Molly stared ahead of her, her posture at attention. She held her cap under one arm, observing the Admiral with her peripherals. He had his back to her and was staring out the large port hole into the clouds, but he presently turned back and stepped behind the large oak desk.

"Very Good General. Continue monitoring the pressure gauges and keep an eye on the radar. We can't have any unexpected complications while running below optimal power."

"Yes Sir. Anything else?"

"No General, that will be all."

The Admiral pulled the chair from behind the desk and seated himself in a dismissal to the General, but she remained in her place, her posture as rigid as ever. The Admiral glanced up at her, fighting the smile on his lips. She was so damned adorable when she stood at attention.

"Is something on your mind General?"

The Brigadier nodded, her silky looking curls bouncing with the curt movement. Damned adorable.

"May I speak freely Sir?"

"Of course General."

"With respect Sir, why are you still here?"

The admiral smiled, his expression deftly hiding the panicked scramble for an excuse to remain aboard when his mission was effectively finished. Hell, he was an admiral, his reasons for remaining aboard were his own business... but... he had to come up with a better excuse than a crush on the ship's commanding officer.

"Admiral?"

"Uh yes, of course. I have decided that a more accurate study of your success rate would be achieved through a prolonged study of your methods. In that interest I have decided to remain aboard."

The General nodded slowly.

"I see Sir. And... what of Mrs. Ainsworth? Will she be comfortable with an extended stay in such small quarters? Surely she would be more comfortable if we moved her to one of the suites. There is one near mine that is both empty and would serve her purposes."

The Admiral shook his head vehemently. The last thing he needed was for his wife and his General to become close. He could see the paradox that would be caused by the two of them whispering and giggling about girly things. It would not do.

"Mrs. Ainsworth will be quite comfortable, and she has been mentioning that she might even prefer to be left off when we dock. I will discuss it with her later. You need not concern yourself."

"Yes Sir. Thank you Sir."

"Will that be all?"

"Yes Sir."

"Alright. Dismissed."

"Yes Sir."

Rufus watched the General salute and then exit before leaning back lazily in the chair he occupied. He allowed his thoughts to fill with Molly, imagining her graceful walk. He could not believe a woman could make him feel so frustrated, but that one definitely could. It was half a blessing and half a curse that she treated him with the rigidly militant behavior that he had noticed to be much more relaxed around her crew and passengers, a blessing because his restraint would simply dissolve if she showed any sign of relaxation around him and a curse because her reserve showed obvious dislike for him.

The Admiral jerked forward, his forehead nearly resting on the desk between his elbows, his fingers scrubbing through his hair as though to remove the lovely Molly Butterbee from his mind, but if that were his intention it was useless. He felt a bit ashamed of himself for the disservice towards his own wife, but he reasoned that since his marriage to her had been arranged, he had never experienced the freedom of loving someone, truly loving them and not only going through the motions with a woman he only liked somewhat. Ah well. He had work to do. Standing, he pulled his cap from the desktop were it lay and placed it under his arm. He would visit the bridge to clear his thoughts, and soon he would be meeting his wife for dinner; therefor he must be in control of his mutinous thoughts.

Knife

It's a knife. You use it for stabbing people. Although it might not be as pimped out and ghetto as the other weapons, it's more effective, which makes you more of a thug...I think.

Well now...
I had the most strange dream last night... it was so weird. Usually when I dream I dream about totally random things. But last night I went to a movie called Just Like Heaven and this dream had -alot- of elements from that movie in it. It was strange. It also had some elements from some reacurring dreams I have too. And some elements from my real life... Well. It was just... strange. I'll leave it at that.

But Just Like Heaven was a really good movie! I don't normally like chick flicks, but I really liked this one. It was really sweet...

After the movie we went driving around with some friends... it was fun. xD We went up to the cemetary to escape detection from the local police, and then two of the girls decided they wanted to try riding in the trunk. So they both squeezed in and we took off along the cemetary road blasting Weird Al.

They wanted to listen to Avril Lavigne or some such thing. Oh well.

And then Brett, the only guy there actually, kept insisting that four people squeezed into the back seat of a Honda Civic was too many. Well legally he's right, but we all managed to fit, and I didn't even have to sit on him, much to his relief.

Changing the subject, a Google search brought me to a Avatar Simulator that's much better than the GavSim. I generated my lovely avatar some new clothes... I really wish I could afford the joker stuff. D: I love that stuff.
