Labels -- What they are to you.
I see a lot of you out there use labels to describe yourselves. In fact, most of the people on here seem to.
Some of the most common labels are:
Emo
Sexy (or a million other variations of this)
Gangster
Skux
This annoys me. Not because of the labels themselves, but because people either seem to want to add a million titles to themselves to seem more attractive to others, or people are trying to fit in to a culture they aren't part of, and trying to get some of the style or class associated with that.
Its really quite pathetic, if you think about it.
What happened to individuality? Why can't people be people, instead of pumped up pretenders trying to be people they are not?
I dont mean to say that you can't use titles and labels in moderation, but when I see someone named 'Sexyhot [name] XxX Hotness XxX Angel XxX Emo X' it pisses me off. I mean, come on people.
Freud would say that you were trying to hide your vulnerabilities and inperfections behind a veil of deception and overncompensation.
He would be right.
He'd probably also be right about his subsequent rant about the fact that you wear miniskirts and bandanas means that you have a repressed desire to sleep with your mothers.
I hope you've learned something about titles, and how not to use them.
