..
:)
Okay, so. I did this for a friend after she asked me why I kept calling her a *****.

Quote:
D: You don't know that ***** have emotes because you think MySpace and FaceBook are the only sites that exist on the interwebs, Sarah.

How many times have you actually talked with somebody random on the interwebs through an online forum or a chatroom? I'd say like... never.

Eventually, after hours of trolling polls and ignoring the normalities of society, you come to realize that all ***** have their own personal typing techniques when it comes to Emotes and other internet manners.

Many times, ***** include ":)" at the end of certain messages or as basic replies.
Simple Ex:
- "ASL? :)"
- "So, what grade are you in? :)"
- "That's interesting. :)"
- "What do you look like? :)"
- "Do people think you're pretty? :)"
- "I got drunk last night. Do you drink? :)"

(This last one can range from any kind of alcohol or drug abuse, or inappropriate behavior. Anything that indicates, whether or not, you'll be an easier target for the *****.)

*

Other common tactics ***** use are: dumbing themselves down or making you feel smart by adding typos to easily spelled words. Often, a ***** will comment on your "great spelling" or envy at your grammar, even if the ***** typing skills are far more superior than your n00bish ways. The smart ***** target dumb people, aka, n00bs, blondes, illiterates, posers, so it's REQUIRED as a l33t, to be knowledgeable of the English language.**

Often times, there will be occasions, where n00bs are hard to distinguish between "the just plain dumb" and *****. The most common case would include, a fellow chatter whom becomes far too interested in the topic of "Sex" and begins to take things WAY too seriously. In this situation, don't waste your energy trying to figure out, whether or not, you're conversing with a *****. Simply ignore the person in question and focus on the other intelligent chatters. If there are no other l33ts or newbies, leave the chat/forum without hesitation. ***

The unlucky and "new" *****, usually stumble into the unforgiving grasp of a l33t. This most commonly results in extreme flaming and massive ownage curtsy of the l33t; short-term entertainment for the l33t, Fail City for the *****. These moments offer the greatest opportunity for newbies to witness a master at work and begin sharpening their own skills for Epic Win.

NOTICE; Don't be fooled by a n00b posing as a l33t. A poser usually makes the following mistakes:
-Spells everything correctly, but fails to understand homophones.
-Ignores proper capitalization.
-Ignores proper punctuation.
-Overly uses OOC or "action." (Ex: "*coughs*" wink ****
-Is easily confused by common sense.
-Is offended by the ***** comebacks.
-Uses immature threats or insults.
-Will continuously use "Your mom" or any variation of that phrase.
-Refers to their age to back themselves up.
-Is solo in their flaming attempts.*****

(WARNING: If you can't spell and have difficulties with basic grammar, getting involved with a flaming, whether you're supporting the l33t or not, will only result in your own inter-worldly demise. Just don't do it; save what little pride you have as a(n) n00b/blonde/illiterate/poser.)

And this concludes: "UNDERSTANDING THE INTERNET AS A RESPECTABLE L33T -- Lesson One: ***** and You." Thank you. :)

*There are other examples of ***** Emotes, such as: :P, =P, =), including "noses" to the emote like the emotes of MSN, not understanding the more "advanced" emotes or the lack of use, copying the emotes of l33ts, and many more as ***** try to blend with l33ts and newbies.

**Certain exceptions apply for bilingual l33ts from other countries other than the US, depending on their internet status and how well-liked they are.

***Unless, you're looking to flame. In this case, ask a friend to tag along, tag-team flaming is classic fun and usually leads to a good hour of rich laughter.

****If a l33t feels it's absolutely necessary to use "action" during a good flaming, chances are, they'll use a pair of hyphens (-), instead of the overly used and n00bish, asterisk (*).

*****L33ts are usually very popular and would never allow their friends to miss out on the fun of flaming.
