I'm feeling a little better since I last updated. I've been working on my comic even though I can't update anything right at the moment. I've also been thinking about working on one of my stories that I haven't touched in awhile.
Which led me to thinking, because I'm a Dungeon's & Dragons Player, why aren't Orcs more popular?
I know they're in almost everything these days, from Tolkiens' Orcs who are actually Elves who have been tortured, to World of Warcraft where they come from a different planet entirely (That's just the skin and bones of everything, but it's a long story).
But I mean, really popular. You know what I mean? There are very very very few things where Orcs are the main focus of things (Dis-including playable Orcs online, but even the Orcs from WoW have had their popularity pushed aside in favor of Humans for the Warcraft Movie currently in development).
They're just a placement card for barbaric beings, (Dis-including Online Orcs once again, Save Ragnarok and Final Fantasy XI where they're just run-of-the-mill monsters) and people often forget that humans were once this barbaric.
Orcs are actually my favorite race in D&D (I play one in a campaign with my sisters in fact, I might type up a transcript for it later, or even draw some parts of it and stick it up on my Deviantart), and in WoW. I haven't played much of anything else to know much, except that the Orcs in Allods, which to me just look bland.
I've seen people talk about how when they create Half-Orcs (Paraphrasing a lot, sorry) that the Half-Orc "Came about in the usual way of an Orc raping a woman". Has anyone ever really read the description for Half-Orcs in the 3.5 Player's Handbook? I quote directly from the book;
"In the wild frontiers, tribes of Human and Orc barbarians live in uneasy balance, fighting in times of war and trading in times of peace. The half-orcs who are born in the frontier may live with either Human or Orc parents, but they are nevertheless exposed to both cultures."
Never does it once mention that it is commonplace for Orcs to rape Humans. I'm not saying that there aren't any Half-Orcs that could be a product of rape, but I don't see too many stories or things about Orcs in good light.
And to me, I'm sick and tired of it.
That and I'm still pissed that the Warcraft movie won't be about EVERY race in Warcraft, not just humans with a sticky note on their armor that says "Gud Guys" on it and acting like massive assholes.
With love to the ghosts who put up with my rants, Dinah

Hopefully some self-therapy will work for me a little.
I get really nervous around people. I hate getting nervous. I hate people.
But I don't dislike going out, I love going out, even to stores, just not by myself anyways.
What do my shadows think? How can I even hold a job?
It's ridiculous really.
