He lived by the code of the shinobi and sacrificed himself for the good of others.
He never betrayed the Hidden Leaf Village. No, far from it. He was a hero who died for his homeland. He carried out his mission knowing full well of his fate. Self-sacrifice.... that was his duty.
It was a mission set up by the Leaf Village to annihilate every member of the Uchiha clan. The man despised war having witnessed the 3rd World War of the villages at the age of 4. He had no other alternative especially since it was his own father was leading a rebellion against the Leaf village. So inorder to prevent the 4th World War, he annihilated the entire Uchiha clan except his little brother. He cared only about his little brother, he begged the Hokage to protect Sasuke, and if they didn't he would release the information to every nation.
The Leaf Village then marked him as an S-ranked criminal in the Bingo book inorder to cover up any knowledge of the fact that he was on a mission. He wouldn't be allowed to come back home alive and killing himself wasn't an option. His younger brother, the survivor of the massacre would then end his life in combat years later.
With his last breath he secretly gave his younger brother his power so that he may defeat Madara Uchiha.
It was a duty he had to fulfill.
Out of duty he killed his clan, and turned his back on any comrads he once had.
A lesser person would've been crushed by this burden.
The taint of disgrace will follow him to the grave.
Future generations will revile him.
In the Leaf Village, as a despicable traitor with no sense of honor, and as a murderer everywhere else. He'll go down in history as an S-ranked criminal and no one will ever understand. That was his true mission, and like a true shinobi he saw it threw to the end
Everything he did was for the Leaf Village. He sacrificed his life and his honor for his native land.
He is a real hero, A true shinobi.
He will forever be viewed as a monster to all, and no one will know the truth.
The true intents of his mission will be shrouded in darkness.... Forever....
