Walking through the snow You feel the wind kick. Knocking you from your feet. You land hard in the snow. Then you feel the claws of the Kamaitachi. They cut you so. But when you look for blood all you see is a healed wound that does not bleed. Yet you are filled with the pain of the healed wound. This was an attack by a Kamaitachi.
The Kamaitachi is a creature from Japanese legend. It actually consists of 3 bodies but is viewed as a single entity. The Kamaitachi is a trio of weasel demons who live in snowy mountains. They ride on the wind and attack travelers who dare cross their mountain path. The Kamaitachi work with almost military prescision: the first weasel knocks the victim down, the second weasel then cuts at their legs with his sharp claws. Finally, the third weasel applies medication to the wounds. When the traveler realises what's happened, they're left with only painful wounds that don't bleed.
