In two hours I will be on a train heading for London Stansted airport where I will be flying to Salzburg, Austria, and then chilling in Salzburg for five hours at the train station Hauptbahnhof until my train for Vienna comes at 2:18 in the morning...
This shall be interesting as I really do not speak any useful German, so I've been practicing this phrase over and over again;
Gross gott... Ich mochte eine Fahrkarte nach Wien Wastbahnhof bitte. Ich habe eine Vorteilscard.
I hope it'll be good enough, and if the clerk laughs at me and talks to me in English, that's fine too, no issues with that. Not to mention the Vorteilscard isn't mine, it's Emily's, but if I just pay with Euros they shouldn't ask for ID since I'm not cross the border, so I should be able to get away with it. Hopefully. Its very likely I'll chicken out and just buy one at regular price from the machines, we'll see how brave I am. After my spell in Austria, I'm flying to Bergamo, Italy... where I hope to grab a train to Venice wherein I will say this;
Buon giorno, desidero un biglietto per Venezia Saint Lucia.
Though I will most definintely buy my Italian tickets via their big yellow machines... yeah, no talking to the Italian clerks, I'm not that brave. I really should have memorized this phrase book, bah, I'm useless.
I would say it hasn't hit me that I'm going to randomly travel Austria and Italy, but the distinct unpleasant churning in my stomach is choosing to disagree. I really hope I have everything. I guess if i have my passport, phone, and credit card that's all I really need. I think I shall memorize many different ways to say I only speak English in various languages on the plane, that sounds fun.
