The Bunnies and My Dog
My dog stares at my bunnies for what seems like all day long. When I get one out, she stands even closer.

Anyway, my little Black bunny (Akita/Akito) can pose like a grand champion netherland dwarf! Yippee!!! 4laugh

I got a hat! I got a hat! *cough cough*
I have a few feathers left over from the ruffled feathers quest. I don't know what to do with them.

I had a major fight with a "friend" today. So here's the conversation:
"How come you're always partners with Cara* and not me? After all, I have known you since preschool. She's kinda stealing you away from me, as a friend," Nicole* had said.
-More conversation I forgot-
"We're floating apart! Figure it out." I snapped back.
"Thanks for stealing my friend, Cara*." She yelled up the line. Then she said, to me this time, "What a great friend you are."
~Later~
Cara*: Nicole*, quit whining, we don't want to trip and roll down the hill into the nettles!
Nicole*: Thanks for stealing my friend...
Cara*: She can have more one friend. She just doesn't want to be friends with you right now, is all.
Me: Stop talking about me like I'm an object!

*Cara and Nicole are fake names. The real people's names were not used.

Of
~ Cynthia ~
Starflower of the West

14th of the Wolf Moon, 1846
I was given this book to right in. I am Princess Cynthia Kylaia of Silverland, Starflower of the West, and Crown Jewel in my father’s court. I am sixteen years old and I am two weeks away from what is possibly the worst decision I will make in my lifetime.
I will break my betrothal to Prince Carlos of Goldstream, Snow Eagle of the South.
I know Father shall be upset, but I do not like Prince Carlos at all. He goes hunting far too often, according to his sister, Poppy. His mother, Queen Elenora, says he is the strong, silent type. That is not true. He talks often enough for me to know that he is cold-hearted and stubborn. I do not hate him; I just strongly dislike his manners and personality. They are both cruel and fake.
I feel he fell in love with my looks, just as I did until I figured out what he was. He has a well built frame, dark eyes and hair, a long nose, and tan skin.

One hour later
I just got the news that Father has taken ill. I don’t talk to him or see him much, but I was taken aback. My father was ill? He had always been a healthy man, almost never sick. Was it a serious disease? Or just a very bad headache?

No matter what it was, I had to see him. I walked to his room and asked the guards for permission to see him. When they said I could enter, I pushed open the doors. I froze where I stood and gasped in horror.
Father was lying on his back in bed, his eyes glassy. Blue spots covered his skin.
My mother, Queen Isabella, Rose of the West, was sitting by his side in an armchair, weaving. She saw me staring with my hand clapped over my mouth. She ushered me back to my room and sat down on the chair next to my bed, neatly tucking the folds of her skirt beneath her. (She had left her weaving in my father’s room.) I could see my mother had been weeping. Tear lines stained her eyes and cheeks.
“Cynthia, darling, please don’t cry,” she begged. Too late. I had already started sobbing because I knew what she would say. She continued, “I only sent the messenger fifteen minutes ago, and in that time, your father had a siezure. He didn’t get enough air and our mages couldn’t help him. There power is not strong enough to chase his soul to the Realms of Paradise.
“Now I rule singlely and I must find a new husband or be engaged by the fourteenth of the Rose Moon, or hand the kingdom over to you and Carlos. What?”
I had frowned. I had to tell her I could not marry Prince Carlos, and I had to tell her now. But the Rose Moon was only four months away! Could she find a new king in that short time? And if she couldn’t could I?
“Mother, I can’t —“
I fainted before I got to tell her.

15th of the Wolf Moon, 1846
When I woke up from my faint, Queen Isabella was asleep in the chair. I saw blue spots on her skin. I cried out in shock. So my mother had this deadly disease as well. I touched a finger tip to her forehead. Her face was so hot it might have burned me, had I not taken my hand away. Her chest was moving rapidly. Then it stopped. Her breathing started again, and I knew I had little time left. I ran to find Healer Whiterose.
I found her in the king’s chambers, asleep. I nudged her with my foot. Then I kicked her. She woke up and I explained about Queen Isabella. We sprinted back the way I had come. We ducked through the tapestry into my room.
Mother was lying on the floor. She was blue. I guessed that she had had a seizure. She was not breathing. Whiterose tried to tell me something. I didn’t hear it. I’d lost two parents in two days. So I did what was expected of me.
I fainted. Again.

16th of the Wolf Moon
It snows today. If Mother was here, she and I would be outside, throwing snow at each other. But, it cannot be so, for she is gone. I am sitting in a window seat in my chambers. I am now Queen Cynthia of the Western Counties, without a relative except for my uncle, the Duke Liam of the Southwestern Counties, and my sister and brother, Princess Bella and Prince Jonathan. I have no husband.
The window seat is cold and a bit drafty. I have been forced to move many a time. I have yet to find a hiding place for this diary, but I think I know of one.
In the floor of my wardrobe, there is a loose board. I shall hide it there for now.
I am thankful my ladies do not go through my clothes. I pick them myself. Today I am wearing one of my most precious gowns, the one I save for the first snows. It is silver with a white hem and sleeves, so no one can tell I’ve been playing in the snow with Bella. I wear it for Mother and Father and Jonathan.
Well, my ladies are calling. I must hide my diary under the loose board in my wardrobe.

After lunch, during the little free time I have
When I walked into my chambers shortly after lunch, my feet carried me to my wardrobe and my hands dug out this diary. I could have sworn the engraving of an owl on the front of the leather cover blinked at me. What happened today was remarkable.
Mother and Father were placed next to each other in separate burials. Daffodils, roses, and bluebells from the South Counties were placed on their burials.
As we walked back to the capital of the West Counties, someone walked beside me. It was my younger brother, Jonathan. On my other side walked Bella. I reached out to hold their hands, and as Jonathan took mine, I looked at him. His eyes were red and puffy. He had been crying. I could not blame him. Bella and I had wept so hard we were crying steady, silent tears.
At the memorial, I talked about Mother and Father. “My mother loved us. She would have played with us all day long if she had had the chance. She would have held us all day long when we wept sorrowful tears. She was kind-hearted. She gave food to passing people on their way to North and South, enemy, or friend. She personally taught Princess Bella and me how to sew. It was long and hard to do, but she did it.
“My father was a happy man. When at his happiest, he would give his chains and treasures to the servants.” I could think of no more to say, and if I could, I would not be able to say it. Tears streamed from my eyes and a lump formed in my throat. I stepped down and ran for the door, unintentionally stepping on somebody’s foot. Another person grabbed my wrist, but I shook them off and ran for my rooms.

Before supper
I discovered somebody in my garden. He was the same person who grabbed my wrist at the memorial. It was Prince Carlos of Goldstream, Snow Eagle of the South.

My Traditional Rabbit Show
Today we went to the rabbit show that we go to every year. We bought a bunny from our friend, Ms. Hobbs. She is a 7 week old Blue Netherland Dwarf. She is supposed to look really good when she's older. We named her Pacita after her dad.
Also at the rabbit show, we sold a bunny named Lola. We were afraid she was going to bite my mom, so we got fifteen dollars for her. A little girl gave me her phone number and told me and my mom to call her about her rabbits. Boy, was she annoying! stare
