Coming together... sort of.
"I dont see why you are so grouchy today" Masked hummed at Donny absent mindedly as if he didnt have a care in the world. Donny's expression however was the exact opposite, and was definetlly well beyond a simple grouchy attitude, his face a mixture of anger and worry, the anger part seemed to be directed towards his comrade however, but Masked payed no heed to it.
"Why, the sun is shining, not a cloud in the sky" he waved a hand towards the bright blue sky, which, true to his word, didnt have a single cloud to interupt its journey to the horizon and back again "Such a gorgeous day, what more could you ask for?"
"Hmm, oh, I dont know" Donny said between grated teeth, which didnt stop the sarcasm from coming through loud and clear "The problem may be that we are in a pub that used to have a roof, Im covered in cuts from countless splinters and theres a giant carrying a cannon firing at us!" and much like Masked's own statements, Donny's words where true as well. The sky that was so blue and pleasent was only visible due to the lack of roof which had collapsed mere moments ago, causing the splinters and it was all thanks to the giant of a man standing at the other side of the tavern, which Masked pointed out quickly.
"So I hardly know why your angry at me" he said loftilly, shifting against the table he and Donny were currentlly hidden behind, the responce was fast and angrier as a steel ball the size of a small child ripped the table in two, narrowlly missing them both before taking out the wall...

((Just a small update of the story, finished later))

Gone for a while
For sometime now, my familys cash flow has been troublesome, so much so that I will be losing our broadband connection, i.e, you wont be hearing for sometime.
Hopefully, this is just temporary, but we shall have to wait and see.

The first meeting...
"Cause it's a bittersweet symphony, this life
Try to make ends meet
You're a slave to money then you die
I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down
You know the one that takes you to the places
where all the veins meet yeah"

Up above the singing man, a shadow leapt from tree to tree with barely a rustle, a few leaves being disturbed and nothing more, inside the shadows head it was humming along with the song that was sung, although instead of lyrics the man spoke to himself.
"Is this guy just asking for trouble or what?" the masked man took a moment to supress a chuckle, staring as the claymore carrying lad walked underneath him once more without the slightest idea that he was there.

Masked had been following Donny for a while now, the baking sun beating down on what would be another of Masked's victims, who hid in the trees above, staying cool in the shade that was offered from the clustered leaves, but he couldnt stop the small gathering of persperation from pooling at the bottom of his pearl white mask, dripping silentlly onto the branch that he was currentlly perched upon, his lightly bronzed skin also bore the tell tale signs of the continous heat, sweat covering his skin, and in some cases running down his cheast where it had collected over time, the only cooling sensation it felt was when he would leap from tree to tree to keep up with the singing Donny, the small breezes whipping his body with each bound, but now wasnt the time to enjoy it, now was the time to strike...

Donny's red hair lifted in a merciful breaze, causing the young Celt to stop in the exact moment Masked's attempted strike flew from the trees above in the form of a hail of needles which landed just infront of Donny, exactly where he would have been had he not stopped in his tracks at that precise moment.
Cursing under his breath, Masked watched as Donny now took a protective stance, almost missing him draw the massive claymore sword when he blinked, peering closer, unable to believe the boys speed.
"How is that possiblle, how could he have..."

His train of thought was cut of however as Donny charged the tree was in, realising a second to late that he had made the mistake of staying in place for to long after a strike, giving away his position. The leaves blocked his view, so he couldnt see how it was done, but the large oak started to fall with him still in it, forcing him to take the fall as best he could be rolling across the dirt path that he had been cast upon, the rougher stones drawing small droplets of blood and stinging him, but nothing more that couldnt be ignored for the moment, quickly regaining his composure as he sprang to his feet, drawing his thin rapier sword so that it pointed at Donny, staring down the blade at him with those cruel yet beautiful blue eyes.

"Unlucky there ya bugger" cawed Donny as he stared back at Masked with equal contempt, both almost the exact opposite of images, Masked seemed more refined, flighty and almost elegant, long blonde hair and near unscarred skin was the slightest of the points that made him seem so attractive. Donny stood stalkier, his body cothered by a tattered white shirt which looked like it had been sewen up many a time, the red kilt he wore looked to be worn but actually spoke of pride and strength, which was boosted by the many stories his body told in scars, scratches and bruises.

"I wont be the second time" Masked returned the quip with one of his own, knowing in his mind that all he had to do was strike once to end this little scene, that claymore would prove useless against his speed.
At least, thats what he thought, but as he went to stab at Donny's heart he quickly found himself stepping back defecivelly as Donny parried the attack and swung with his own massive sword in blow aimed for his left arm, an attack the would surely cleave it of if it connected.
His speed may have failed with its attack but it helped Masked avoid the quick succesion of swipes but only barely as he felt himself being pressed back from the relentless assault, trying hard to form a plan in his mind whilst dodging this way and that.

"Faster than I thought, look for an opening" as much as he tried, Masked couldnt see a single way past the swinging sword without getting injured himself, a second idea forming in his mind "Ok, back up to a tree, duck so that his sword becomes stuck then strike" slowlly, he lead Donny back to a large tree, waiting until he could feel his bare back press against the rough bark.
"Now" roared his mind as he ducked one of the arching swings, however the hidden grin was short lived as the claymore bit into the tree and continued through, slicing it cleanly without even slowing the swing in the slightest.

To shooked to react, he soon found Donny's boot bearing down on his hand, kicking the rapier sword from his hand as the tree fell behind him, crashing to the forest floor with an ear splitting crash, staring up at Donny as the tip of the claymore pointed at his throat and Donny spoke again...
"Second time didnae work either pretty boy"
Prayed as Donny reached back with his sword...
"There aint even gonna be a third time"
And gave his thanks.

An almighty roar from Masked's left turned both their heads, the thanks in Masked's mind changing to an audible curse as a giant four time their size lumbered through the trees weilding a club that was bigger than either man. The stupid creature stared at them both for a second in a way that suggested it wasnt going to be friendly towards them. The moment was all they needed to make up their minds, if either wanted to survive they would need to work together, and by the time the giant was lumbering forward to attack the had already made a silent alliance, Masked gripping his fallen sword before standing alongside Donny.

The first swing of the club came wide, intending to strike them both. Masked leapt over and to the left as the club came round, Donny however was left to grab the club and hold on as best he could, gripping on hard and digging his boots hard to stop from falling.
With the giants attention drawn to Donny, Masked was quick to act, rushing forward and driving his sword into the side of the giants knee, aiming to cut something and hopefully disable the leg.
The scream of pure agony made him flinch, stumbling back covering his ears as best he could, leaving his rapier burried to the hilt in the creature's leg. that, however, was the least of his worries as a hand reached down in an attempt to grab him, quickly rolling away.

In this time and window of oppertunity, Donny had made his way to the giants hand which still gripped the club he was currentlly pearched up, raising his sword he swung for its hand with as much power that had fell the trees from before. The leathery skin held firm unfortunatlly, the sword digging deep but not enough to remove the hand as he had hoped would happen, but it was enough once again to switch attention from masked who had been close to being crushed.

The giant grabbed Donny succesfully and threw him, still gripping the sword, towards a thin and flexible tree which he grabbed as he passed it, causing it to bend slowlly until his feet reached the ground, curling a leg into a bush near by to stop it springing back up, a plan forming in his mind.

Luckily, Masked had realised what was to happen early and had already started to make his move, moving quickly he ran behind the giant as it had thrown Donny, knowing that at least the skin on the back and side of it's knees was thin a flexible, letting rip another burst of needles like before which peppered the back of the hulking monstrosity's legs, this time it started to fall forward as it bellowed, at which point Donny released his foot hold on the bush, using the momentum from the tree, his swing and the falling giant combined to carve his sword straight into the skin, cutting straight through the throat of the giant as he passed by its head and collided with a tree after skidding along the ground.

The resulting crash as the giant fell was greater than the two trees before, dust and dirt being propelled into the air from the sheer massive impact. Donny watched with a grin and slowlly closed his eyes for a moment to regain some of his energy, when he opened them however Masked stood over him, the rapier retrieved from the fallen giant still red from the blood and pointed at his throat.

Both remained silent for what felt like an hour, the sun far above them continuing to beat down on their bodys, and despite the mask, Donny could see that Masked was debating wether to kill him or not, slowlly grinning he shot another quirk at him "You got your second chance... wheres mine?"

A few more seconds of silence passed, eventually broken by the sound of Masked's laughter and the swish of his sword as he waved it through the air to rid it of blood, offering his free hand to Donny to help him up "Fair enough" he sighed as the Scotsman was helped onto his feet, both of them staring at the carcass as if in disbelief at what they had accomplished, the stench already starting to grow unbearable.

"Im Donny" the red head finally said "Im Masked"
Another few seconds silence, broken by Masked "Where you heading Donny?"
Donny gestured "Where ever this road leads"
Masked nodded "Same, but I think we better leave now, this stench is going to attract some hungry animals and even angrier giants"
"Agreed" Donny said as they both headed of down the road together, heading for the port of Gull...

((Ok, storys starting to move along and the first two have met up, oh, i wonder who they will find in Gull, huh?
And yes, I realise the lyrics arent original, shat up, leave me alone))

Return of the inspiration.
"Donny!" the delicate voice echoed across the kitchen, the red headed teenager glanced over his shoulder as he shook some water from a tanker he held in his hand "Aye? Somethin up?" he called back, his own voice a sharp contrast to the angel like sound that his mother admitted "Just need you to see to some more customers, leave the washing for now and go on through"

Donny sighed as he dried his hands on the towel hung above his head and shunted the door to the pub open with his forearm. he hated serving the customers, not a decent one amongst them, they were either drunk, hungover, rude, to rich or to poor. Or worse, arrogant and cocky. They were the worst, the ones that thought thjey were better than everyone else, especially him because he served them "Only if ye have enough coin that is he reminded himself as he spoke absent mindedly to a drunken warrior, he always hoped for that occasion when the person was to poor, then he could get his simple revenge be hauling there arse out into the muck.

Sure, some of them could afford to be arrogant, the warriors and mages that had bested the best, defeated foes of unimaginable strength and came home to a hero's welcome may even deserve to spread their tales, but not boast like most did, not turn their tales into warped fantasies that was impossible. The worst of all was...

"Wizards" Donny said scournfully as the door swung open and the three wizards strode in, stopping just at the door to let there presence be know. No one paid any attention though, and when they didnt, a short bang emitted from the fingertips of one of the men, which garnered a responce this time, all eyes in the tavern swiveling to stare at them, most quickly moving back to their companions or their drinks, starting trouble with a wizard was usually the last action that dead men had done. He forced a smile onto his face as the three sat before him.

"Evening gentlemen and lady" he picked his words carefully "May I help you?" the middle wizard, who was a bit rounder than most grunted like a pig and waved a finger "Three glasses of elven wine, oh, and could you pick that up?" as Donny poured the drinks he glanced at the floor near their feet which was spotless "Pick what up?" he mumbled, slightly confused until the blonde wizard flicked her glass which fell to the floor with a shatter "That" she cooed, causing the others to start laughing.

"Im sorry" Donny said grimlly, his hand moving unnoticed to the massive claymore sword which was kept under the counter for trouble "I dont obey hags" that was all it took to send the wizards into a rage, each rising from their stools, one pointing a finger "How dare you refer to us by that" he virtually screamed but Donny just kept grinning, knowing that wizards hated it when they were called anything lower than what they were.
"Wipe that sickening look from your face" hollered that fattest once more as he raised his hands, a light glowing between them. Donny's eyes widdened, he knew a powerful spell when he saw it and raised the sword defencivlly, although he knew it would do nothing to protect him, clenching his eyes shut he remembered his parents, one of their lessons...

Jack, Nora and Donny all panted heavily as they dropped their weapons and sank to their knees, Donny no more than seventeen grinned at his parents as they returned the look "I-Im getting better" he managed to choke out, his claymore glinting in the sun, reflecting his mother's short sword and shield and his fathers axe "Indeed you are" said his mother "I couldnt be more proud" they all sat in silence for a moment, the sun beating down upon their bodys, his father eventually breaking the silence "However, you must remember that pride and arrogance can be your greatest downfall, resist it as best you can, never be to proud to refuse help"
Donny was silent once more, letting it sink in before nodding slowlly "I understand" and his mother spoke as the memory faded "And all you ever need to do is think of us, and we shall be there, ready to help..."

Donny opened his eyes, the electric pulse of the spell was fading, the bright light diminissing into nothing. He stared at the wizard whos mouth sagged open, his hands clutching at the blade of the short sword that penetrated his back and protruded through his cheast, Nora stood behind the wizard, twisting the sword so that it hurt in unimaginable ways "Never... attack my family... never..." the other two wizards, momentarilly dumbstruck by what had happened suddenlly acted, raising their hands like their counterpart before them but where stoped by what looked like a mountain of a man swinging an axe.

The axe in question sunk into skin, causing a scream and silencing it in the same swipe, the last wizard droping her arms to her sides as the tavern emptied, everyone hoping to get away from the fight before they got involved as well "Your... your..." she almost gagged as both Nora and Jack turned to stare "the Celtic Cross" she managed to utter, raising her hands to try a spell once more but fear gripped her heart, the spell failing as both the retired heros descended upon her, extinguishing her life.
Donny's cheast rose and fell as he watched, knowing he had been an second from death had his father and mother not intervened, and now knowing who they were "Y-you are what she said, I s-see it now" his voice was but a whisper, both his parents staring at him with a nod "We are, and you are no longer safe Donny" his mother said, her face spattered with blood.

Donny slowlly walked forward, reaching to his parents but his hand was batted away by the blunt of his fathers axe "No time" he said "Leave, go, the back" Donny stalled for a second but soon turned away and made for the back exit, hearing a crash behind him but not daring to look around, he knew what it would be, the city watch, they would be after his parents, the Celtic Cross had been found and they would be coming for them, he screamed at himself to stop, turn and help, but he knew he couldnt...

From the hills he finally let it out as the smoke wafted up to him, tears streaming down his cheeks as he watched his home burn, knowing that everything he had and loved was in there, besides the sword that lay beside him and the clothes he wore, he had nothing.
Drawing himself up to his feet he could feel himself start to fall, using the claymore for support he started to make his way into the forrest, truly alone for the first time in his life, the last of his family, the last Celtic Cross.

((This story isnt as good as the others and I may re work it sometime.
Also, would anyone like to see a story involving the Celtic Cross family at some point?))

Inspiration strikes again.
"Shh" said a loud and booming voice, to mortals that is, but the voice of a god never was one to try to be quiet, with that single sound the higher power had awoken hurricanes on the other side of the world, although it meant nothing to it at that moment as the other gods immediantlly lowered their eyes to the newborn that lay amoungst them, passing their thoughts to each other.
"So, this is the centre of all?" questioned one of the minds, to which another silence like none before it fell, eachs god's mind had no thought run through it, a ability no mortal could ever master "Bit of a small one isnt he?" came another thought, this time met with the disagreements of the others "Do you not feel his spirit? The heart that beats within this child contains all the will and determination of all that there was, is and ever shall be."

"Just saying hes a bit small" came the quick reply "And I thought he was to be a new born child... this young boy is at least six" a collective groan echoed amoungst the minds before the hurried explanation "We spoke of this, newborn means to be newly created, whatever shape or form that creation takes, we realise you only became a god recently, but please, try to keep up" they all fell silent once more as the boy beneath them awoke and turned his head upwards, as if looking to the deitys themselves, but they knew this to be impossiblle.
"Its not right, robbing him of his sight like this" said another thought, the reply was quick and harsh "We have not robbed him of anything, that would suggest us taking it from him, we created him without it"
"So where is this... carrier?" the minds hummed for a moment, but not as a voice, they were searching, scouring the earth for the one who had been plunged into sadness, the one who would feel the most for this child, but at the same time would not be able to fathom what was in store for the golden eyed boy that was now groping blindly across the clearing he had been placed.
"He is... there"
"Where?"
"There"

Across the world a hurricane was dying, silencing itself after ripping across a rich and prosperous land, destroying the once proud city of Trinal, ridding it of all life and beauty, leaving nothing but the ruins of what would be one of the largest mysterys of history. Nothing remained. Except for one faint light.
The tall, dark skinned man dug frantically through the rubble of what had been his home, using the saddness and fear that was building up within him to fuel his desperate search for whatever he could find "Please, no, no, be there" he whimpered to himself, his skin finally touching that of what had once been warm "No..." he choked as he pulled back on one final slab and fell backwards with it, the fear that this may actually be real disapeared and turned to that of realisation, telling him that the eyes that stared hauntingly at him were real, and that like his own eyes, had held the flame of life.

"This is the soul" the god that had found him told the others that had joined just recentlly "The dieing light in darkness"
Above the gods watched as the large man of such strength was reduced to tears, cradling the one he had loved in his arms "Why must we do this? It truly robbery now, this poor soul has lost the one soul that was closest to him"
"Souls"
"What do you mean?"
"She was pregnant"
Forgetting itself the god that had shown so much compassion wimpered "Oh lord"
The reply was sickenly cheerful "You called?" but it was met by a disturbing silence, the one that had uttered the tastless joke would not speak again that day as the scourn from the other gods forced it away in shame. For a time those that remained could only watch, they would never feel what the poor soul beneath them felt, the utter loss that weighed down on the poor man. "What is his name" the timid mind finally broke the silence, the mind already knew and although it hated to disturb the scene, it knew they must move along with what was to be, the reply was not an answer but knew of what was being intended. "Come, let us take him from here" and with that the sobbing giant of a man was silenced by a deep slumber.

"When he awakes... he will remember it all?" the compassionate god had voiced its concern through out the movements of the large man, before a reply came the god started up again "Can we not ease his pain? Its not right, we..."
The god was cut of by another "You know we cant, to become what he is to become he must bare this burden without our help, no matter how much pity we feel for him"

They just watched then, as the giant man slept with the smaller child nestled in his arms "Amazing, that even now, though they do not know it, that they are drawn to each other"
"It is, a good sign of what is to come"
"But now, we leave them to their fate, we must leave now, if it is to be as foreseen"
As the gods started to slowlly melt away a few last thoughts spread among them.
"So this is how the era of hope begins, in the midst of great tragedy"
"Ironic I know... now ends the age of retribution, now begins the stoy of Jeri the Dieing Light and Amuse the Angel of All"

((This time I focused on the story of Amuse and Jeri in the same fantasy age, sorry for those hoping for a continuation of Masked's story, but I felt like I needed to do this one. I may do Masked next, but then again, it may be Donny's story next))

Where did this come from?
Ok, let me put it this way.
I felt like writing something, good god knows why, I just felt like it, so here we go.
This is a litt;e ;ook back into the past of my four most common characters, this may happen again as I intend to post little bits of their history now and then.

Set in: Fantasy.
Sixteen today I thought to myself as I lay against a tree, my eyes half closed, blocking out what little light made it past the mask I wear, the heat made the edges of my sight blurry, I could barely make out the outlines of my friends.
"You little s**t" the biggest blob growls.
Ok, I lied, theyre more like ex friends now, but at this point the small details werent that important to me as something large and metal slammed into the side of my head, sending me tumbling from the tree into the trunk of another some ten feet to my left, tears sting my eyes as I bring my hand down the rough bark, scratching my fingers.
"You hear me you little b*****d?" shouts the largest blob once more.

Thats Bagar incase your wondering, big, strong, dumb and smells like apeshit, the three ex friends pause and murmer to each other, I cant make it out but Im not going to complain, the longer they take the more my sight returns, I can just make them out, Bagar, the hammer weilding barbarian is the one thats been beating the crap out me for the past ten minutes, that short black hair does nothing for him, and those deep set brown eyes make him look like a gorilla without fur.
His partners in crime are Cheena, even now I can make out her black hair, and although her looks are much better than what Bagar could ever hope for I dont like the look of her, small, slender and twisting a knife in her hands as if stabbing someone, and I can guess who she intends that person to be.
Then theres Sarutia the elf, those deep blue eyes shimmer, his face in a twisted grin that some how make him look even better.

"Fools" I murmer under my breath but my tone isnt low enough as an arrow suddenlly pierces my shoulder, forcing a scream of pain out of me, the sickenglly smooth voice of Sarutia playing through the air "Tut, tut Masked" he wags his finger as if scolding a child, I hate when he does that and he knows it "You should know that us elves are..." I cut him of before he can finish, Im going to die, I know that, so what does it matter "...a bunch of tights wearing women who cant bare to be seen without their make up o- GAH!" like I cut him of Im suddenlly forced to be silent, another arrow protruding from the same shoulder, Sarutias face is now a deep crimson.
"Watch your tongue Masked or I shall cut it out" says Cheena as she saunters over to me, pushing the blade against my throat gentlly so that it wont leave a mark.
"It is almost too obvious that you to are fu**ing" I say with a defiant chuckle, Cheena's face turns a beetrot red as she moves the blade to stab me in between where the arrows hit, twisting it to lure out another scream from my already dry mouth before standing, leaving it there fior me to hold as I sob uncontrollably, all defiance in my voice gone as I murmer.
"Why... why..." the responce is a laugh from all three of my now enemies, the elf was the one to speak out first "Why you ask?" he simpers to me "Why do you think, we have been together as a group for what, a month now? Not once have you opened to us, shown us your face, damn it Masked, we dont even know your real name"
I wince as a hand full of dirt finds its way into my wounds "And then you steal this" he continues, holding up a Diamond rose, my eyes widen at the sight of what is rightfully mine "Ive had that since I was a child" I growl through clenched teeth "I didnt steal it"
"Well its mine now" Sarutia stands up straight, leaving the dry dirt in my wounds "After all" he nocks another arrow "the dead" he raises the bow and aims for my head "have no need for possesions" he releases the arrow but it misses, mainly because Cheena had forced his aim up with her arm, a sick grin to match Sarutia's appearing on her face as Bagar watches on, scratching his head like the thick lump that he is.
"Im curious" she purrs as she speaks, like a cat with a mouse "Lets see what he looks like before we finish him" with those words I jolt up slightly, shaking my head "No, no, dont" I try to say but cant, Im shaking to badly to do anything, just aware that now the elf had put his bow round his neck to keep it ready, the tight wire on his neck. My focus changed as I felt Cheena's hand reachround to the back of my head, undoing the straps that keep the mask in place "No" I mumble as the first comes undone, my plea ignored as my voice gets louder "No" but like the one before it is ignored.
I practically scream this time as the hand on the handle of the dagger in my arm tears it from the wound and swings it at Cheena in one quick motion, slitting her throat. Eyes wide in suprise she grasps her throat and falls back, Sarutias howls fill the forrest as his lover slumps backwards onto the ground.
"Mistake number one" I say coldly as his attention moves from me, my free hand quickly pulling another dagger from Cheena's boot and lunging onto my knees, throwing both of the blades at Sarutia, each one hits his wooden bow, the force of the hit snaps the wood and forces the two halves to winde round his neck, choking him. His face turning blue as he falls to the ground.
My small victory is short lived as a sudden thumping sound marks the attack of the Barbarian, barely aple to duck the hammer that sails over my head and lodges itself in the tree, the brute growing agitated as he pulls at the handle to try and dislodge it.
"Mistake number two" with him preoccupied I make my move, picking up my own weapon that they had dropped when they first attacked me. feeling the weight of the rapier sword boosts my anger as I turn to look at Bagar once more, tellimg myself to make it the last time I see him alive as I move quickly and slash the back of his heels and then driving the tip into both his arms as he falls, rendering his limbs useless.

I stand their amongst the fallen for a few seconds to regain my composure, sighing in relief before the pain re awakens in my shoulder, gasping as I pull the arrow tips out "How does it feel" I coo mockingly "To be the helpless ones" they are all still alive but barely, Bagar screams his apoligies whilst Cheena slowlly drags herself one handed over to her lover, tears streaming down her face at the sight of her elf dieing, his gurgles the only sound he is able to make.
Slowlly I pull out three daggers of my own "You wanted to know me... you wanted to know my name" I catch Cheena's eye as I make my way over to the barbarian, shock in her eyes as I drop one dagger into his cheast, silencing him "I..." she trys desperatlly to pull Sarutia away as I make my way over, panic making her helpless "Am..." she gasps, closing her eyes tight as the second dagger drops into Sarutia, silencing him as wel, I wait until she opens her eyes once more before finishing her life "Dominous"

Hurting
As many of you know, i get hurt, alot.

Now then, due to the constant injury, pain, illness or what have you, many have also seemed to stop caring, as if to think "Hes used to it" or think that I say these things to seek out attention or show of.

To those of you I say, get bent. I dont think you relise that this is something I cant get used to, do you think I enjoy this? Think that I get into fights just for the attention? Personally, I would love to switch places with you for one day and see how you like it.

Sorry, my rant is over now, have a nice day!
