Ink-black tousled hair, almost borderline tangled at any one time, falls to just past his shoulders.. which goes well enough with the generally two-day stubble gracing his jawline - rarely is he seen with actual styled facial hair or clean-shaven. His nose appears almost hawkish, his cheekbones are defined and he's got a strong jawline; certainly a masculine face, although his lips hold an almost sensual curve to them that goes well with the slight smirks and shows of contempt that he's often prone to. He has no piercings, no tattoos and no brands... visible ones at least, save for what might once have been one at the base of his throat. Through his left eye, over his left cheek and down to the corner of his lips is a very faint, barely visible scar from his previous incarnation. Three claw marks go over his right pectoral, scoring almost straight down to end above his navel just below the belt line - certainly not a clean edge to them, rather jagged, have also by now faded out much like those on both of his.. where something literally climbed up onto him to do the damage. Broad in the shoulder with a medium muscletone best defined around the upper arms and abdomen, a light bit of black hair is apparent on his pectoroals in a 'v' to match the 'happy trail' leading down from just below his navel into his beltline. A warrior's physique indeed, that he maintains through a combination of western martial-arts and sparring when the chance arises. His teeth are more dog-like, his senses heightened.. primarily scent and sight.. and he's got roughly two-inch long thick curving black claws instead of fingernails.

The mist that often seems to follow in his footsteps is, in fact, very much a part of him and an indication as to what, exactly, he is. In his 'raw' form, Strav would appear to be very much an almost cloud of dark fluid-like mist that constantly fluctuates and changes, with only a very basic humanoid shape and maybe the faint impression of claws and limbs when caught in the right lighting. Seven-foot of smokey, partially-incorporeal blackness with vaguely humanoid features, sloping backs, elongated arms that reach the floor and long, whip-like tail ending in a spade with vicious jaws.. His species are composed up of something that no matter black the night, they will always appear darker - while this effectively can enduce terror into a victim, it also serves as a telltale sign that one of them is lurking around if a patch of the night starts moving. Generally when Strav/Romain lets the mask 'slip' a little, he gains a black smoke flecking and flaring constantly around the breadth of his shoulders and within his hair - it can also plume out from his mouth like smoke, and he's been known in the past to even make it come from his eye sockets to further freak the snot out of his victims. On occasion and due to his age, he's also capable of allowing several quill-like protrusions to appear from his shoulder blades and a spade-tipped tail that's about three foot long and, much like the rest of his subtle 'extras', wreathed in smoke.

Self-confidant, shrewd and cunning.. skillful in flattery, eloquent in his words and manners but with an easily provoked temper that can lead to intentional brutality and cruel actions. Brooding resentment and sadistic brutality, total arrogance, morbid jealousy, extreme volatility of temperament are also rumoured to be some of his vices. Overall, an intelligent, vicious predator that wears a mask of rank-defined civility devoted to the arts of war.
