Nararauko is an elf, orphaned at a young age, and drafted into Elvish military service.
Being an orphan, he is seen as disposable and is therefore used as a test subject for an experimental program in cybernetic implants. The entire right side of his body, including leg, arm, 5 ribs worth of torso, and the right hemisphere of his brain, are robotic, as is his hair, every strand of which has independent motor control. Much of the process goes awry, and where he should have a normal elvish appearance, a large amount of the flesh over the metal refuses to regrow.
Upon gaining a high-level security clearance to complete his missions as a teenage black op, he immediately turns traitor and flees to the headquarters of the humans he has been forced to kill his entire life.
The humans accept his defection and provide him a new name and a new life, but he refuses to have the implants removed or his ears clipped. Since the humans are not only at war with the elves, they are paranoid about any high tech equipment due to their near extinction by their own creations 50 years ago, Nararauko (now known as William or Wil) is scorned wherever he goes.
Nararauko (he chooses to still use the name with those he trusts) has little or no emotion save his undying love for his closest friend Gillaurëwen, a human who doesn't care that others shun him, but considers him a brother.
He has no real "life mission" but he values Gillaurëwen's life above his own and would gladly make the trade.
Nararauko is skilled with both the gun and the blade, and though he rarely needs either, his right hand can become either weapon.
