Perfect Harmony First Draft
A Part From My Novel In Its First Stages
"You were sent here to kill me weren't you?"

Eiran looked away; what could he say to her? It was true, from the very beginning, but as he looked down upon the woman, he couldn't help but feel a deep regret for ever coming.

"Your kind poses a great threat to the Neverbeen Kingdom."

He closed his eyes and turned away from the woman who had invited him into her shelter, her beautiful home in an ancient, but still living tree. Protected by its roots and guided by its wisdom, he could see how she was able to live so long without the assistance or company of her people. But she didn't even know her people, didn't know who or what she was; no surprise, she had been left beneath this very tree to die with only her name carved into a silver locket when she was only an infant.

"What kind of threat?"

Aurora asked, her voice now laced with suspicion; it stung knowing that she no longer trusted him. He opened his eyes and looked upon her. She was beautiful; it was night time so she had white hair, moonlight colored eyes, and all white clothes. When the sun rises her entire appearance will change to black; black hair, black eyes, black clothes and so on. He saw this transformation multiple times when he was with her; it was a more of a rarity than anything else on earth. It is during the change during sunrise and sunset that her kind are most vulnerable and are cut off from their power. All hid away until their change was complete, yet as they walked together from village to village, she went from white to black and then black to white right before his eyes.

"Your people have a connection, a bond to nature that no one else has; you're born from it, are a part of it and according to legends even speak to it."

She thought back; the woman had been alone all her life, yet never once did she feel alone. The trees as they swayed told stories of a forgotten past, the wind whispered tales of far away lands, when she was hurt, right before her eyes the very earth would provide the proper herbs and roots to heal her. Was it true? Was she really a part of this species that had such ties to nature? She always thought it was normal, that everyone one heard the wind speak and the trees recite what they saw.

"What's so dangerous about this bond?"

She rose to her feet, absently caressing the roots of the tree; in response, it groaned as it swayed, giving her words of comfort. This did not pass unnoticed by Eiran.

"Your people can use it against the Kingdom. All the stories of your kind's power over nature terrifies all who hear it."

She had had enough of his swerving, he wasn't giving the information she wanted. Out of anger Aurora slammed her hand down upon the tree roots, the ground rolled beneath her feet and the wind howled dangerously. She didn't stop to realize she was the cause of the sudden change in weather, she was too enraged.

"You keep saying 'your people' or 'your kind'. Well what kind am I?! What the hell am I and why were you sent to kill me?!"

Lightning forked above them and the hunter flinched; the night sky had been clear not two minutes ago. He really did not want to reveal her identity, he wasn't supposed to, but as he gazed up on her, glowing in her beautiful, yet lethal white light, he knew that he could keep no secrets from her.

"You are one of the Harmony, a species long thought wiped out during the Great Purging. As I said before, the Harmony have a connection the nature that no other being has and others feared it so much, they were exiled and imprisoned before they were systematically killed. Your exsistence means that some of the Harmony survived and I was hired by the king of Neverbeen to track all of your people down and destory them. You were supposed to lead me to your people, but you obviously had no clue about your identity."

Fear, pain, betrayal, disgust, rage all swirled within her and the world outside the protection of the tree was in chaos, reacting to her out of control emotions.

"Leave."

She said quietly, it was all she could say; she found him wounded, took him in, nursed him back to health, he helped her, even saved her all so he could kill her with his own hands?! She trusted him! She kissed him, surrendered her body to him, even her heart she opened up to him and this is how he was going to repay her?!

"You know I can't do that."

He said quietly and she knew what he was saying.

"Then I'll make you."

Is it good or not? You tell me
