Maybe I should just make this a six month update thing. XP Anyway time for the people to be updated for no apparent reason again!
First off! Starting off in March, Pokemon White, Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, and 3DS time! For me, Pokemon Black and White were rather groundbreaking for me. Several of the new comers have already carved their own niche alongside Gallade and Typhosion from previous generations. Plus some of the new features in them are quite useful and constantly moving sprites makes the battles come to life even more instead of everything feeling static when I go back and play HeartGold or Platinum. Lego Star Wars III was kinda just a pick up title for me, but it was fun to play nonetheless. The new multilayer space battles were pretty awesome and the more diversified ranged weapons were quite fun to use as well (Sniper rifles and rotary cannons FTW!) Plus with the mininkits earning you characters from the classic trilogy, it makes getting 100% a lot more fun. Oh and they made Starkiller into a Lego form as well. 3DS is a great piece of technology (I currently use it as a MP3 player, movie/anime/tv show streamer via Netflix, and occasionally as an internet browser, as well as the obvious use as a gaming device. I got Street Fighter IV at the same time as my 3DS, but I sucked on it, so it was traded in a bit later for a title I will talk about later. Once the eShop went live on the 3DS, I purchased Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX on the Virtual Console. That's a lot of fun, especially since I can easily pull up a walkthrough if I get lost.
Now for a special section on all the Gamecube games I've bought recently! First off, I purchased X-Men Legends and X-Men Legends 2. I played both before with a friend on the XBox and enjoyed playing it a lot, so I find them both at Gamestop and purchased both to relive those fond memories. I also got Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance. It was basically a video game version of D&D that I could play alone, so it pretty much acted as filler for me. And then I found Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures. I was very ecstatic when I found it at Gamestop. I pretty much rushed to the cashier after pulling it off the shelf. I find it to be one of the most innovative Zelda games I've played to date. Today I purchased Sonic Adventure DX for the Gamecube and have made pretty good headway into it.
Moving on now, I purchased Goldeneye 007 and Metroid Prime Trilogy around a month ago. Having already beat Goldeneye when we rented it last Thanksgiving, it didn't take me long to beat it again, so mostly I play it online. I've been steadily making progress through Metroid Prime Trilogy and I'm currently working on Prime 2.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. BEST. DAMN. REMAKE. EVER. Nuff said.
I've also borrowed my stepbrother's Call of Duty: Black Ops, so I've been playing that a lot lately.
EDIT (8/2/11): As it is too soon for a formal update I'm just gonna add in a few more Gamecube games I bought last Friday. First off is Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. After beating Sonic Adventure DX, I really wanted to play SA2. SA2 is pretty much every thing I want in a Sonic game with a variety of gameplay styles while remaining true to the Hedgehog's legacy. I also got Sonic Heroes, though good for a bit, the fact you pretty much go through the same level with all four teams, it tends to be a bit repetitive. Finally I got Soul Calibur 2, a non-Smash Bros. fighting game I am actually pretty good at. I've been pouring a lot of free time into Soul Calibur's Weapon Master mode collecting all of the various weapons for the characters. Surprisingly, Link is not my character of choice.
