The sun was beginning to rise and all was quiet over Evergreen Lakes, everyone was still asleep. That is, except for three cloaked strangers and their little dragon who snuck out of town as early as possible. Queen Lilith was awaken the night before by her son’s arrival home. He informed her of what had happened, she was now watching them leave her gates. She would not give up so easily.
Queen Lilith: evil You disappoint me Derrick. *she said coldly while placing a hand on her son’s shoulder. Her skin was cold and it sent shivers down his back. Derrick’s ice colored eyes met with his mother’s black and colder eyes.* I had hoped that you wouldn’t be a failure like your father… yet, you let them live.
Derrick: *looked at the floor* Sorry, mother…
Queen Lilith: *reared back and slapped him across the face, her voice rose.* You are weak! Never apologize! Have I not taught you anything and you retain it? Or does everything slip out through a hole in your heart? Now, you will make this up to me, will you not?
Derrick: Yes, mother. I will start out today and track them down. They will not escape me this time.
Queen Lilith: twisted Good… *watches her son ride away and returns back to a table that has a map of the current discovered world. She looks over all her territory and the plots to take over more. Smiling to herself she knocks over miniature castles and house, then laughs maniacally.* Soon it’ll be all mine! And there will be not be anything that anyone can do to stop me.
* * *
Adelaide: *is out of breath* Can we stop?
Clara: Yeah, Jade needs to get out and stretch her legs, and get something to eat.
Adelaide: I’m hungry too… *plops down on a mossy trunk.* I’m not going any farther.
Austin: stare Such little girls! *throws arms up in the arm.* What the heck ever! We might as well hand ourselves over to that witch. She has probably already sent a whole army after us. Jade needs to get back to her home land, and you are only concerned about yourself!
Clara: *joins Dela* How important is Jade anyways?
Austin: *giving in and sitting on the ground. They had just entered the forest that borders their home, their first step on the journey to Terria.* Jade… is King Drake’s child. She’s the only heir to the throne right now, and King Drake is rather sick at the moment. He knows his days are numbered, and Jade is their only hope. It’s a complicated matter, but all in all, Jade has to go back, to save her kingdom. If not, Queen Lilith can come in and take over.
Clara: Oh! I understand now. Yes, she must get back to her home as soon as possible. *pulls Jade out of pack and lets her loose to frolic and play. She quickly spots a dragon fly and pounces after it. The others watch.*
Adelaide: We need to eat. *Reaches into her back pack and pulls out a loaf of bread and an canteen of water.* I paid for three loaves of bread, and stole two… *looks away, ashamed* I didn’t have the money for a week’s provisions. So, I had to you know… sweatdrop
Clara: It’s alright, you did what you needed to do. I’m sure that we can pay them back with the silver that we get for returning Jade.
Adelaide: That sounds okay, I might be able to live with that.
*Five minutes elapse, then ten. They eat then pack up and start off again, only stopping to set up camp in the evening near a small waterfall and stream.*
Clara: *pulls out a blanket and then feeds Jade.* We did good for a days travel.
Austin The Evergreen Lakes’ forest is a 5 days travel on foot. At the nearest town we need to get a pair of horses and rest at an inn for a day or so. But, we don’t have any money.
Clara: You’re a prince, where is all your silver?
Austin: *doesn’t answer continues setting up his bed* In a day we will reach the Aurora Cataracts. There is a secret cave that holds some treasure and a magical map of the world. The map has marked and unmarked territory and it changes and updates along with the days. We could use that map, and sell the treasure at South Ridge Shire.
Clara: Isn’t that village a little out of the way?
Austin: No, we can not make it to Terria while hitting several villages along the way. Plus, Queen Lilith will expect us to head straight there and if we diverge off that track a little it’ll help us slip by.
Clara: What ever…
Austin: Don’t worry, breaking into Taka Zee’s Treasure Cave will be a piece of cake.
Adelaide: *face goes white* Isn’t that place full of traps? And doesn’t everybody who tries to get in die? That place is dangerous and said to be haunted by the dead. Those who make it pass the traps usually leave from there screaming mad because of something they’ve seen.
Austin: So.
Clara: I kinda like the idea of this place.
Austin: stare You’re weird.
Adelaide: It’s too dangerous… there has to be another way to get silver.
Austin: I said don’t worry. We will be fine.
Adelaide: I don’t believe you. What makes us so different from every bandit that tries to break in?
Austin: We’re not bandits, and we need it for the greater good.
Adelaide: Uh, hello! I stole bread!
Austin: Have you always been this way?
Adelaide: You mean have I always been cautious? Yes, and you might’ve known that if you had followed through with your father’s orders.
Austin: Don’t bring my father into this! *raising his voice.*
Adelaide: *had held it in for too long.* I wouldn’t have to if you weren’t so much like him.
Austin: I’ll take that as a compliment, because, while my father was sane he did a lot of honorable things. But, I knew he was mad the minute he asked me to marry you! Ha! The idea of joining our kingdoms was so absurd!
Adelaide: So, the idea of marrying me is madness, and joining our kingdoms absurd?! That just shows how much you don’t care about your people. You’re right, marrying would be madness, we have nothing in common and would drive each other crazy. *gets up and walks off.*
Yay! Another entry complete. Well, it’s actually half of the original piece, but I thought it too much and cut it down. Enjoy!
