My Outfit
...is deranged. I know. But it's happy and colorful and exciting!!! I have orange hair and a cat in the hat hat!
My Vacation
Our flight left at 6:30 in the morning so we stayed in a hotel at the airport smile and consisted of 2 connecting flights; from Denver to Chicago, where I was introduced for the first time to humidity (that's the most east I'd ever been!) and then from Chicago to...
Buffalo, NY home of the original buffalo wings! We went to the Anchor Bar, their birthplace. I got chicken lips, which are basically deep fried chunks and strips of chicken and you get dipping sauce. Don't worry, I did have some wings. They were really not spicy at all, of course we got mild. But my dad and baseball brother said the medium wasn't spicy either. We stayed there a day and then drove 3 hours across the state to...
Cooperstown, NY for my brother's week-long baseball tournament. And, no, they did not win anything.
It's humid there. I don't like it. I DON'T LIKE IT WHEN EVERY FREAKING TIME I GET INTO BED IT FEELS LIKE I'M IN A BATHROOM WITH THE SHOWER ON!!! The sheets were always damp and I was sad. =( I like Colorado. Dry air is better. =)
*turns sarcastic* But what I liked even more was the service we got at the restaurants on the last day we were there...the first place we went to, we didn't even get our drinks. We went with a family of six plus one of my brother's friends, so there were twelve people there. We waited half an hour--HALF OF A WHOLE HOUR!--and then left. When we did so, we told the waitress we were leaving. The very frantic waitress was flipping through orders and said in a very stressed-- although she really didn't need to be--voice and said "I can see you're leaving! I can't make twelve drinks in two minutes!" Um, yeah...It was totally half an hour. Go get therapy.
Then while the boys went back to the baseball hall of fame (which I didn't find all that exciting even though I like baseball) my mom, other brother, and I went shopping! I got these cute flip flops that have baseballs on them! They're exciting! >w< whee We then drove to
Concord, Mass. on the fourth of Julyand viewed the Concord Museum. I got paper money from colonial times. Hooray for geekageness! 8-B
Then we went to places of historical meaning...sleepy hollow, the north bridge (the place where the "shot heard 'round the world" was fired.), another cemetery...which brings me to this: every town in New England has at least one cemetery. No matter how small, they have THEIR OWN cemetery! Concord had 2, I think Boston had at least 2...
so we listened to a very...uh, inspirational? tour guide lady person (?) who told us about the beginnings of the American Revolution.
Then we drove to Boston, Mass.(on the same day) and spent like, forever looking for the hotel next to the airport we were staying at. They have good food there in Boston. We went to Legal Sea Foods, where I took the head of a lobster and hid it in my bag because of an inside joke between my mom and dad when they were engaged. (They would put it on each other's pillows or my dad would put it in my mom's purse...) But my dad told me to do it! lol...then we went to The Union Oyster House, the oldest restaurant in America, where I ate a whole plate of mussels (for those of you who don't know, shellfish with orange-ish meat when cooked and have oblong black shells). I always do when I have a whole plate of mussels. I eat them all. hahaha... I love seafood. biggrin Our last meal in Boston was at an Italian restaurant named Paesan's. It's really good and really inexpensive! Mmmm...I had Chicken Marsala with fettucine. For all you Bostonians or people visiting Boston, it's in the North End (where else would you find good Italian food in Boston?) on Salem street.
Enough with the food cheese_whine ...
So anyway, when we were there we took a duck tour, where you ride on an amphibious vehicle and get a tour of boston and then go into the St. Charles River. It was excitingly fun and the tour guide was really funny. (people from school: think Mr. Wiidakas's humor. smile ) And my dad was proving his geeky intelligence by answering the guy's questions. It was only mildly embarassing. *sigh* I guess I know where I get that from. :p
We also walked part of the Freedom Trail, which shows during the American Revolution, and saw Paul Revere's house, Bunker Hill, and the Old North Church.
Then we left and flew to Chicago and then back to Denver. We got back yesterday. ^-^
But wait...
If I was only gone a week and a half, why didn't I post for all of June?
Quite frankly, I was too lazy and not much was going on in my life. ^_^
Randomness, as usual...
--Twiddle is a funny word
--Domino's thin crust pepperoni pizza owns and is the only pizza I will shovel down cold. smile But my favorite's still pepperoni stuffed crust from Pizza Hut. Mostly anything from Pizza Hut. biggrin
