So about a week ago a friend of mine named Adam got banned from Gaia just because a girl gave him free stuff and said she was quitting. My friend pm'd a mod because he was a little worried about the whole thing. He got banned anyhow.
For any of you who know him his Gaia name is Xx.angelstar.xX and his mule also got banned.
I'm sure we'll be able to unban his account if we can just talk to the mods about it. We've sent a few messages by email and the inquiry thingy. Strange thing is, he is a long time monthly item collector, so he has indeed donated a lot.
I'd hate to be banned or hacked from Gaia. How bummed would you be if you donated a lot to a site you love just to be banned and everything you had ever achieved or had, just was there, but inaccessible for the rest of your life? Adam actually made a new account and even donated this month to Gaia.
Me myself have donated last years May 2006, last years October (I think, might have been earlier) and up till this month so far. I will proceed to donate this month too.
I'm not saying those who donate to Gaia a lot are immune to banning but most of the banning these days are due to people buying things from the market or achieving items which were brought with botted gold or it is a botted item. Bannings such as Adams predicament are even worse, he got banned just because a mod possably thought he hacked this persons account? Yes that was a question because I don't know the real reason of his banning, it may have well been because he had received botted items.
I, though its stupid, have a fear of being banned because of what my inventory is worth. Now I'm not saying I'm worried just because I have great items or any snobby thoughts like that. I just don't like the idea of losing what I payed for. Which makes some of you ask "Whats the point in donating for pixelated objects" which I shall respond:
Like a computer game that I would love to buy, I'd buy items for a game I love to play. True these items do nothing but look good but its fun to dress up. Gaia make real life merchandise such as the Coco Kitty. I'd like to have one in real life because it matches my online avatar. Its a fad and thats what I buy into just like girls (or guys) buy their jewelry. I also donate because I want to keep Gaia alive. For the people I know on it, the Gaia story (Which I have managed to catch up on) The Gaia games (Which are oh so cool, especially the Gaia Cinema which I give thumbs up to ever came up with the idea) and much much more.
Speaking of Gaia Merchandise I brought things last year in May which never arrived and I think I lost out on the money. I found the transaction ID last night so I think I'll try again on that before I decide to buy the items again.
One of the things I would love to do when I'm older (As well as make computer games for a living) would be to work with Gaia. I'd love to be a moderator or even an Administrator. One of the big cheese as it were.
To those who hack peoples account on this site I say "GO TO HELL" and I hope those who have been hacked manage to receive their accounts back.
To Lanzer and VO and all the other Administrators and Moderators: NO. I am not having a go or rant at you guys you lot do a swell job. (Did I just say swell) I love you lot to the ends of Gaia. I am just clearly stating my fears, my love for Gaia and that Xx.Angelstar.xX was falsely banned.
