Lee’s Point of View
Once Lee entered the bedroom, the first thing he did was put his luggage on the floor and drop down onto the bed farthest from the window. He stared up at the ceiling as he began to think about what happened to put him in this situation.

He and Sakura were in the same history class and learning about how the Portuguese led the Europeans into exploring other lands. The students and teachers had organized a trip to Brazil to see the Portuguese impact on Brazil. When Lee told his mother about this, Roseline agreed to let him go. Once he told Nyoko, she began to beg him to let her go. With a few twisting, Lee managed to convince the school to let Nyoko come along if their mother said that it was okay. Roseline agreed to that as well, but only if Rahatani went along as a chaperon. So, Lee, Sakura, and Nyoko were put into a group with Rahatani as their chaperon and now were sharing two bedrooms.

Lee got to his feet and prepared to ask Rahatani a question that had been nagging him for a few minutes now, but he didn’t want to get on her bad side on their first day in a foreign country.

Rahatani was unpacking her suitcase, so Lee began to unpack as well. While doing so, he asked her as casually as possible, “Hey, Raha. Why did you choose me to bunk with you instead of Nyoko or Sakura?”

Raha continued to put away her clothes as she simply responded, “Well, Nyoko would keep you up all night and I don’t want you falling asleep in the middle of the day. As for Sakura…”

Lee lowered his head and finished her sentence. “You don’t trust me. Do you Raha?” Lee asked softly.

Rahatani stopped, lightly sighed, and said, “No. I don’t trust you, Lee. Just because you’re my little brother by blood doesn’t mean you automatically have my full trust. You’ll need to earn it.”

Lee stood silently and not moving as Rahatani continued. She began to feel a little guilty and began to speak, “Lee, look. I’m-” She was cut off by Lee wrapping his arms around her for a hug. He hugged her silently for a few seconds before softly saying, “Thank you Raha.” He then let go of her and continued to unpack.

Rahatani stood there frozen in place before continuing to put her clothes away. Her mind and emotions began to connect a bit. The moment Lee hugged her; she felt warmth that reminded her of the other special person in her life.

Sakura’s POV
Sakura sat on the bed closer to the window. Why didn’t Rahatani want me to stay with Lee? Does she not like me? Is there something between them? What if…. What if they’re LOVERS!? Sakura thought. She groaned and laid down with a small thump. She felt a wave of disbelief as she replayed the last question.

Nyoko was jumping up and down on her bed with excitement. She noticed Sakura looking very depressed and silently jumped onto the floor between their beds. Nyoko sat down next to Sakura and looked at her with caring eyes.

“What’s wrong Sakura?” Nyoko asked with a soft voice. She wrapped an around Sakura, in hopes of comforting her.

Sakura looked at Nyoko and simply asked, “Why was Rahatani so intent on staying with Lee?”

Nyoko thought about the question and then responded, “I’m not sure, but I think she’s just trying to bond with Lee.”

Despite the fresh wave of panic settling firmly in the pit of her stomach, Sakura smiled, nodded, and thanked Nyoko with a quick hug. Though she was thankful to Nyoko, her mind was thinking something else. So, you’re saying that there IS something going on between them? I guess she’s trying to get some private time with Lee, Sakura thought. She looked out the window and thought about every time she and Lee had hugged and how she felt in his arms. She felt as if though she couldn’t live without him.

Sakura sighed and began to unpack, feeling so depressed and ashamed of herself. She believed that Rahatani and Lee really were lovers and ashamed of herself that she had believed that she had a chance with Lee.
