Anime Discussion
Animes! Sorry, I had to just scream that out for no complete reason at all. Well, I like anime and stuff and if you want to talk to me about it. PM me or you can leave a comment on my profile or my journal. Or you can do all THREE! YAY!

P.S. Some animes will have pictures, while some anime won't.

Updated on June 28, 2007
Animes I'm watching currently or recently finished.

Hayate no Gotoku! (9.0)
Hayate no Gotoku is one of the new animes of Spring 2006 and it's been a blast so far. This anime is about a guy who must become a butler for this girl, because of certain circumstances. Ok, it's just too long to write, so watch the first episode and maybe it'll become more clearer to you.

Nagasarete Airantou (7.25)
A harem anime with a little twist. The main character is trapped on an island full of females and every girl on the island has never seen a male before. So, they all the girls go crazy for that one guy that has unfortunately been stranded on the island.

Seto no Hanayome (7.25)
This is a love-romance/comedy anime and it's so funny. Well the beginning was kind of mediocre, but once they characters go back to school the anime becomes really funny and you meet a whole bunch of characters. The story is about a guy who was saved by a mermaid, but since he has encountered a mermaid he must marry her or DIE!!!!

Death Note (8.5)
Death Note is a wonderful anime with incredible animations and a wonderful story. It just brings you in each and every episode leaving a good impression on the anime each time. It pulls you in with an interesting story and leaves you off with a powerful ending.

Animations are usually dark colors. The backgrounds are dark, the shading is dark, almost the whole atmosphere is black. The manga must have a lot of black, because of the dark atmosphere this anime has to offer. The manga writer must have had to use a whole bunch of ink. Character designs are wonderful and backgrounds are amazing when they're bright or when they're plain black. (Don't worry the anime does have *some* bright colors in it) The anime also does a good job at showing emotions of the characters. You can really tell when the character is being fooled or the character is in a tight position.

The OP and ED fit the anime well, but they personally didn't fit my taste. (Not into heavy rock songs.) The background music gets a little repeptive. You hear some of the same background music on the last few episodes as you hear them on the beginning episodes. What makes this anime special in sound is the magnificent voice acting we have. All the characters I think are portrayed well by their voices. Misa has a wonderful voice actor and it fits her well. So does Light and Ryuk and some more characters you'll meet in the anime. Popular seiyuus are in this anime. Light's voice actore also does Tamaki from Ouran High School Host Club and Misa-Misa voice actor is Hirano Aya. Who does Suzumiya from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Both of those animes are wonderful and maybe you should look into those when you're done with Death Note. Speaking of characters ......

The characters are a fun bunch. Sometimes you'll love them and sometimes you'll grind your teeth when you hear their name. Their are some really annoying characters who you just want to die already. Then there's the group of characters that start off nicely, but then get worse near the end. Main characters are awesome. Light and L battle each other in brains and trickery. Some people like Light and some people prefer L. (In my opinion I like Light more, but then he got all boring later in the anime) Side character are awesome as well. From Misa-Misa to Matsuda and even Light's father. All of them are built really well and brings some lively drama to this intense anime.

The story has a whole bunch of plot twists that will hook you until the 37 episodes are over. The anime consists of two arcs. (In my opinion) The first arc starts from episode one all the way to episode twenty-six. The second arc starts from twenty-seven and ends at the end of the anime. Again some people like the first arc more than the second arc. I like them both equally, because they both have a lot of plot twists in them. Yes, the story is that good.

Death Note is strong series. With a wonderful story that pulls you from the get go and ends with a powerful ending. It's a sigh that this anime is over, but don't worry I'm sure there will be another anime that is good as this in the future.

Kannazuki no Miko (7.0)
Kannazuki no Miko is a wonderful anime. WOW! Kannazuki no Miko is an anime I have gotten to see in a while. The story is about a girl named Himeko who loves this guy and respects this girl. But the girl she respects has fallen in love with her and the guy becomes her boyfriend. And somehow they introduce Mecha Robots to fight and it gets kind of cool. Kinda weird how this anime has machines and love-romance. I don't know what this audience would watch this, but heck it's good. Boys might watch it for the mecha part, but not get interested in the love-romance part. While girls will watch this for the love-romance, but totally hate the mecha part. I loved both of them and that made this anime a big plus for me.

The animations are really nice for a 2004 anime. The colors are bright and colorful and the character designs are awesome. *sigh* I wish they made a second season, but oh well I might watch Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora. (But, I heard that anime wasn't as good as this)

The music is awesome in this anime. The OP is one of the best ones I've heard in an anime. It's an upbeat techno song that really fits in with the anime. The ED song was a nice slow slong that was really good. Both songs are played well for the twelve episodes they have. I would give the sound an eleven, but I can't go that high. The voice actors are excellent and I wished I could hear them in other animes, but I guess this is what makes Kannazuki no Miko so special.

The characters in this anime are awesome. First you have Himeko who is a little shy and kind hearted and innocent. Some people hate her, but I seem to like her and her attitude. Then you have Chikane who is your super popular pretty girl in the school. Chikane and Himeko are some of the two best female characters I have seen. Chikane is someone who will go with what she believes in and will do anything to make someone happy, even if it means hurting herself. Then we have Oogami Souma who is the main male lead in this anime. Souma is another good male character in this anime. He will protect Himeko no matter what happens and he is very loyal and honest. I love all the characters and I even love the minor characters in this anime.

Kannazuki no Miko is one of the first animes I've seen that does love-romance/mecha/drama/fantasy/action/coolness all together and they do it so well. Every episode leaves you off with wanting to watch more and it works well, especially in the end. So, give Kannazuki no Miko a chance and the worst that can happen is that you hated it. But I totally loved this anime and I hope you can too if you watch it.

Picture for you.

Kamisama Kazoku (6.25)
Kamisama Kazoku isn't the most popular anime around, but it does a good job at doing what some animes are lacking.

Animations are good and colorful. Too bad, some of the backgrounds are boring and felt like they were scribbled. The characters looked nice, but they're outline feels a little dull. Overall I think the animations are pretty decent.

The OP is wonderful and it's even more wonderful, because they have a piano version of it. And they even use the piano version of the song as a background track to the anime. Which is super cool. The ED song is good as well with cute chibi characters. Background music is pretty good and the voice acting is good as well.

The story is about god's family and how they interact with the human world. God's son must explore the human world and is trying to get a feel of what humans feel like. Then he meets a super cute girl and his "angel" starts to get jealous. So ,basically it's a love-triangle with a cute and simple story. Perfect for people who don't want to think that much.

Samatorou is your typical boy, except he's god's son. Which gives him whatever he wants. He falls in love with a nice girl named Kumiko. His guardian spirit named Tenko gets overly jealous and a love-romance starts, but don't worry. It's not that simple, because this anime will throw plot twists at you and you'll be entertained for the thirteen episodes that this anime has to offer.

Tenko or Kumiko? You decide. The anime will lean toward one at the end, so you don't have to worry about an incomplete ending.

Ichigo 100% (6.75)
Ichigo 100% is an anime that leaves a warm fuzzy feeling in you when you finish watching it. But it also leaves a bitter taste, because the anime doesn't completely tell you how the anime ends.

Ichigo 100% is a harem anime with four girls, but the main character mentions three girls. The main character is undecisive. (The most undecisive main character in a harem anime ever) He gets four nice girls over him, but yet he can't choose one. The story starts with a beautiful girl falling from the roof and the main character who's name is Junpei falls in love with her. He then finds a notebook which belongs to that mysterious girl and tries to find her. But when he finds her she is not what he expects. Basically a big love-romance mess and I really liked the episodes wtih the girls. You have your nice/kind one, energetic/fun girl, clumsy/childhood friend girl, and Nishino.

Junpei is the main lead character and the one that somehows gets three girls to fall in love with him. He is very undecisive and sometimes you'll like him for doing the right thing. Only to mess up in the next couple of minutes.

Toujou is the nice/caring girl in which the anime tries to lean toward the most. She is the one that is always kind to Junpei and I think she is the only girl that hasn't hit him.

Satsuki is the energetic/fun girl. Somehow I didn't like her, but a whole bunch of viewers like her. She isn't afraid to share her feelings. She confesses to Junpei a bazillion times and is always honest about her feelings. Yet, sometimes I find her quite annoying.

Nishino is well ummm ...... I can't find anything to describe Nishino. How about caring? She is the one that cares about Junpei and what he wants to do. She is also the first one to go on a date with Junpei.

Yui is like a side character. She isn't one of the candidates for Junpei's lover, she's more like a childhood friend. She's fun and brings enjoyment to the anime. Plus she also helps Junpei choose which girl he likes the most.

The animations are average for a 2005 anime. Like the backgrounds aren't that shaded in well and the details in the backgrounds aren't that creative and bright and vivid. The OP and ED were excellent and set the mood of the anime well. Also the character's voice actors were good as well. Only complaint is the boring background music you have in the anime. I don't even remember one single tune of the background at all.

Watch it for enjoyment, but you may find yourself disappointed at the end.

Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora (5.25)

Kyoshiro to Towo no Sora is sort of like a sequel to Kannazuki no Miko, but again it's kind of like a different story.

Animations are outstanding. The character models look really pretty. All the girls are super cute and all the guys in the anime are somewhat handsome. Like that didn't really bother me, but it made me feel like their world is just too perfect.

BGM was fantastic, you can hear orchestra music in the background. I thought that was really nice, but the battle background music was really plain and just doesn't compare to the background music of the romance scenese. Voice acting does a good job, not a super job, and not a horrible one either. But it still works and it's still effective. OP sets the mood as a romance genre, while the OP video shows that it's going to involve some mecha action. ED is a slow song that shows more of a romance side to the anime.

Story is decent. It's about Absolute Angels and how they're really strong and that they can destroy the world. I didn't really care about the saving the world plot. What I really cared about were the relationships with the characters. (With all of the beautiful characters that this anime has) The romance is really tricky in this anime and there are many plot twists as well. But the negative side is that the story seems kind of slow at moments.

Characters are all pretty, but what about their personalities? Kuu who is the main character describes herself as boring and unimportant. So, you have a girl that doesn't have that much confidence in herself. I really liked Kuu for some reason. Maybe she was really pretty or maybe it was because she was a pretty good main character. But there is one thing about Kuu that got me annoyed. She has a habit of saying "Dear Prince" every five minutes. >_<. It was so annoying. I remember one episode when she said that line about a bazillion times. But she gets better after the first few episode of saying that over and over again.

Kyoshiro is the main male character and he looks like a prince. Well that's what Kuu describes him as. Kyoshiro is a person that wants to rid the world of Absolute Angels, because of his brother or something like that. Kuu has a habit of saying "Dear Prince" and that is almost as annoying as how many times Kyoshiro mentions his brother and how much he looks up to him. But overall I like Kyoshiro at the end and I hated him at the beginning of the anime. So, I guess he goes through some character development. Then we have Setsuna. Setsuna might be the prettiest girl I have ever seen in an anime. But she is almost lifeless at the beginning. She has no emotions and she is an Absolute Angel. I felt kind of bad for her, because she was being used by Kyoshiro to hunt other Absolute Angels and Kyoshiro doesn't treat her that nice at the beginning of the anime. Setsuna is another character I liked and maybe she was my favorite character in this whole cast.

The side characters are wonderful and some of the characters are from Kannazuki no Miko. So, that will make fans of the old one happy. The show had wonderful characters. (And they are so pretty. Sorry, that I keep on saying that, but it's true. >_< wink

Kyoshiro is a good watch for people who have seen Kannazuki no Miko. And even if you haven't seen Kannazuki no Miko, Kyoshirou to Towa no Sora will give you at least some enjoyment.

Since Kyoshiro to Towa no Sora has just good character models. I'll give you a picture of the anime.

Sumomomo Momomo (6.0)

Sumomomo Momomo is somewhat action/love-romance/martial arts/comedy/and harem at the same time.

Animations are decent for a 2005 anime. The character models are ok, except for the big huge eyes the characters have. The backgrounds are colorful and work well with the anime. Everything seems fine, but the fight scenes I thought could have been a LOT better.

The OP song for this anime is so good. Personally I like it. The OP and ED that this anime has sound quite unusually for most animes. It sounds more ....... I don't know how to describe it. Just listen to it and you'll know what I mean. But the first OP starts off the song with "Let's engage in child production." Yea, kind of freaky. Well it fits the anime story.

The story is about a girl named Momoko who wants to marry a boy named Koushi. They have to marry to keep the peace of the chinese zodiac and keep the east and west from fighting. Unfortunately for our two main characters they have a bit of problems to deal with. Momoko loves Koushi, but Koushi doesn't love Momoko. Instead he wants to be a lawyer and not a martial artist like Momoko. Koushi must deal with getting attacked by assassins who are trying to take his life to stop the peace. Don't ask me why they want to stop the peace?

The characters in this anime are fun-filled and they all go through some character development. The side-characters are just as fun as well. Then the anime kind of turns out to be a harem on some episodes. You have Momoko the main girl, Iroha the aggresive and kind one, and Sanae the really smart and nice girl. The secret is that they are all martial artists and Koushi doesn't like martial artists. The characters are fun to watch and that made the anime fun to watch as well. (I still didn't like the main male lead after the anime was over)

Sumomomo Momomo is a watch for comedy. Maybe a watch for everything else it tries to do. The harem seems decent enough to pull off. The action is there, but not one of the anime's main points. And the love-romance between all three of the girls and the main character is there. Put it all together and you get a tounge twister called Sumomomo Momomo.

Tsuyokiss (3.5)

Tsuyokiss is a harem anime turned around. Instead of having the male as the main character. We have a female as the main character trying to win one of the male characters. (Up against a whole bunch of other female characters) Does it do well?

Animations are average. Some episodes are better than average, while some episodes were below average as they used the same scenes and the same character models again. Backgrounds are decent and the character designs change each episode.

OP/ED songs are ok, though nothing worth mentioning about. Background music is decent and everything else is decent. Nothing good and nothing bad leaves for a plain taste in my mouth.

The story tries to start off with a comedy with a whole bunch of fanservice. YES, THERE IS A WHOLE BUNCH OF FANSERVICE!!! When the characters have to change a scene they always say "Tsuyokiss." I bet in each episode they have said that about 15 times in each episode. -_-

Well, it's about a girl named Sunao who loves to act and hates daikon. She falls in love with her childhood friend that she met ten years ago. But there is competition as some other girls love him as well. So, it starts off as a comedy and getting to know the other female candidates. (My favorite is Kani the blonde hair girl with the pigtails. That looks really weird on the AnimeNfo picture) They don't get to all the characters though. We are only truly introduce to four characters and the rest our just thrown in the anime, because they didn't have enough time. I wouldn't mine spending some more time getting to know the rest of the cast.

The second part of the anime tries to be all drama and lovey dovey between our main female character and our main male character. But it's slow and boring and it makes you lose all interest, because there's no comedy involved at all. I say cut down the drama part and make it fast paced and add in more comedy parts and introduce some more characters. This anime would have been better if only they change a few things around.

Strawberry Panic (7.0)

Strawberry Panic starts off slow and boring and I can see why people would droped the anime so early, but if you hang on the anime may surprise you with the later episodes.

Strawberry Panic has animations that are average I would say. Nothing amazing or detailed in this anime, neither is their anything bad or horrible. The animations stay consistent throughout the entire anime.

BGM is the thing that Strawberry Panic totally exceeds at. Soft slow piano pieces are played at the right moments while there are still light hearted pieces of music in the anime. The anime also has two OP and ED which is a plus for the anime. The first OP and the second OP are outstanding and the first ED as well. Can't say the same about the second ED though. Voice acting is top notch with a whole bunch of popular female voice actors doing the cast of Strawberry Panic.

The story starts off slow, but then slowly picks up near the second half of the anime. It's about a girl named Aoi Nagisa who enrolls at a school where only girls attend. There she meets a girl named Shizuma and the anime Strawberry Panic starts. You're better off reading the preview from AnimeNfo then reading mine. >_>

Sometimes the anime gets really cliche and cheesy, but if you overlook those moments then there's a whole bunch of other stuff waiting for you. Personally, I felt like I wanted to drop the anime near the beginning, because it was so boring. But I heard that the anime will eventually get good and the characters were too hard to pass up.

Characters are some of the best I've seen in an anime. And the whole cast is a bunch of girls. There's not a single male in this anime at all. Which to me was really surprising. The main character Nagisa is a nice girl who cares about all the other characters, she is looked up be her younger classmates and appreciated by her older classmates. Her roommate Tamao is more of a fun character and just more interesting to watch. Shizuma is the Etoile who is the one that is looked up by all the students of Miator, Spica, Lulim. All of the side characters are wonderful and also fun to watch, except for Hikari, because I extremely dislike her.

Just to tell you this is a yuri anime that means there are some girlxgirl moments. What would you expect from an anime with only female characters in it? Strawberry Panic is currently one of my favorite yuri animes at the moment standing next to Kannazuki no Miko.
