My careless-ness made me believe that it was going to be us
You and me 'till the end...
But your heart was some where else,
and mine was daydreaming... about what we could have been
Instead of what you see us as.

Now I go to the ceramony
Fighting back tears and pain
To see you up there with your true love
and me, left in the dust to never be thought of again

What did I do wrong? Where did I mess up?
Was my mind so wrapped up about us...
that now there is no us?
or... was there never an "us" to begin with?

My heart falls to peices once more
with a yet another failed relationship
There goes your picture in the fire
along with a chunk of my heart that you took

I'll just sit here...
Watching you with your true love..
Like an old-time movie left in the attic...
Gathering dust over the lost memories

I'll think of the times...
Of When I thought...
It was just you and me...
