Here It Comes
Part 15
At the sound of havoc, Nic managed to squeeze through the window. He gazed in horror at his surroundings. Policemen trying to hold the criminal, witnesses stating what thjey saw, and worst of all doctors in a circle screaming orders.
"Difrebrilators! Now!" He heard the charging of those scary metel plates.
"Clear!" He couldn't tell through the mass of people who was hurt, but when he walked closer he could see he it was.
"Matt!" He screamed
"What are you doing back here?! Get him out!" Comanded one of the crew.
"NO! That's my little brother!" The crewman let him go, and he rushed over. He nelt near his brother's head and watched horrified as they tried to revive him. Tears rolled down his face as he glanced up to see who was arround him. His gaze stopped at a girl watching Matt closely tears streaming down her face as well. Lindsey he tought. He stood up and walked over. Lindsey looked up.
"I-I'm soo sorr--"
"No need to be sorry. You didn't do this. And you were the one who had to watch this. What happened?"
"He-he came to save me! Why does he... Why does he... Why is it him who has to..." Lindsey weeped.
"Die?" Nic asked,"He's not dead, yet. We'll do everything possible right?" Lindsey nodded. "You've been through alot,"he said calmly,"Don't worry. Everything will be fine." Nic pulled her closely and tried to calm her down.
"We have a pulse!" Yelled a worker. Thank God Nic thought. Lindsey looked a little relieved but not much.
"He still needs to breathe..."
"He is now breathong rush him to hospital! Stat!" After the ambulance left a police man came over to Lindsey and Nic.
"Are you Lindsey?" He asked. She nodded. "Some one is here to see you." She looked up at the door.
"DAD!" She leaped up and ran to the door."Dad! I-I... Oh my God dad... He's, he's not okay. And it's all my--"
"Shhhhh. It's not your fault honney. Calm down. It's okay, everything's okay now... Shhhhhh. Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Lindsey shook her head,"But Matt is..."
"No, Matt will be fine. I promise." Nic stood up, "I'll leave you two alone." Lindsey watched as he walked out of the room.
"I am so glad you're okay! And I promise, promise promise promise, I will stop hurting you. And I will start limiting my drinking. You can help me. Okay? I don't ever want to hurt you. Never ever again."
"Oh dad! You don't know how long I have been waiting to hear you say that." Tears were still streaming down her cheeks. Lindsey and her dad got in his car and began to drive to the hospital. Her father turned on the radio.
"There was been a shooting on South Street. Fourtunately he man has been caught. This was the same man who kidnapped Lindsey S. days ago. Lindsey was not harmed in any way. Though a young boy who has not been Identified is in crittical condition at the South Frontenac Hospital. Doctors are unsure wether he will be okay or not. Witnesses say--"
"Turn it off dad." Lindsey said"I don't want to hear that again. Matt is going to be fine!"
