Okay, so I did the math in a short break between homework problems (Yes, I was doing math as a rest from my math. Go figure.). As you probably know if you know me, I'm saving up for the D.O.T Shall. She's $560 herself, her faceup is $40, and her wig is $30. So, $630 in total, plus shipping (but I think Mum said she'd pay for shipping.).
I already have $352.40, $187.50 of which is from working in the yard, $41.90 of which is saved allowance, and $110 of which is from cat-sitting for a friend on various occasions. So, I have $277.60 to go. My grandmother is going to pay me between $75-100 to sew her a tree skirt. To make calculations work, let's say she pays me $75. (It's never a bad idea to have extra money.) So, that's $202.60 left.
My mum pays me $7.50 per hour (minimum wage here in CA) to work in the yard for her. I just checked the DOD website, which says that they take ~4-6 weeks before they're shipped out after you order, plus 7 buisness days or so to ship, which dashes my dream of having her by Christmas. Still, I'll figure out how much per week I'd have to work to get her by then anyway, because it's fun. So.
There are fifteen weeks before winter vacation. Minus seven weeks for shipping and making gives eight weeks. At $7.50/hr, it would take me 28hrs to make $202.60. 28 hours divided by eight weeks gives 3.5 hours per week.
Wait a moment, four hours a week? I can probably do that. I mean, that's just two hours every weekend day, and I was planning on doing that anyway. Awesome. And there's my allowance, of course, which is $5 a week if I remember to ask for it, but I don't feel like figuring that in right now.
WHEWT! whee
