Look at it from a different angle if you're confused.
Hmm. Birthday.
Well, that was odd.

My fifteenth birthday was yesterday, and the first half of it royally sucked, but the end was brilliant.

Sucky bit first, to get it out of the way.

I spent most of the day either sitting with my parents attempting to look pleasant as they talked to relatives I haven't seen in my memory or sleeping downstairs in a desperate attempt to hide from said relatives. (Not that there's anything wrong with them, but I don't really know them and therefore was petrified.)

In the evening, I attempted to rescue my cousin's relatively expensive Italian eraser from his psychotic cat, who seemed intent on ripping it to shreds. All I got for my troubles was a nastily scratched-up hand and my mum mad at me for "teasing" the cat.

But then everyone kind of realized it was my birthday and started being nice. My dad actually made me a carrot cake (carrot cake > regular cake^100000). The rest of the day was just generally nice.

Now the materialistic bit. ^^;;

I actually got stuff I liked. This is somewhat unusual. Often I'll get, say, a book on growing up in Australia, or something else random and inexplicable. But I got two DVDs of the art shows we saw yesterday (Hopper and Turner), two anatomy books, new coloured pens, a biography of Tim Burton, a wicked awesome white shirt and black vest, three new ties, a Klutz book of Wiki Stix (WTF, but awesome), and. . . . .

. . . .Wait for it. . . . .

American.

Effing.

McGee's.

Alice.

I can't believe they actually found it, and for a Mac, no less! Now I'm all itching to get to Dad's computer at home with the biiiiig pretty screen and play far more Gothic Alice than is good for me. (Oh, and to invite Bes over to play it with me. Hi, Bes, if you ever read this!)

Still, though, HOLYSHITAWESOME.
