Well, lately I've been feeling in a bit of a creative drought. Typically, what a girl does in this situation is seek out a decent RP. That is, an RP that is literate, fascinating, original, and has just a tiny smidgen of reality somewhere in the mix.

One does not simply.....walk into a decent RP.

It's very difficult to choose one. You have to take many things into context, like how long it's been going on. It's always awkward joining an RP, no matter how good the players and plot, once it's already in full swing. Once character relationships are established, goals are decided, protocol is agreed on, and bonds are formed, joining up makes anyone feeling like a bouncing little n00b running around squealing 'OMG HAI' where they don't necessarily belong.

And then there's the RP'ers themselves. People in literate roleplay tend to crave....power, looks, etc. I. Can't. Stand. This. Godmodding and Mary Sue-ism are not good for a girl's state of mind. When you look at an RP and the plot is exciting and you see potential, it's most disheartening when it turns out everyone has "piercing eyes", can tell what everone else is thinking, and happens to have the ability to raise themselves from the dead and shoot fire, ice, and lasers from aforementioned yeux. Some of the smarter, cockier characters attempt to enrich themselves with insubstantial faults to appease their conscience regarding the lack of realism and etiquette in superficial ways. Excuse my lack of proper phrasing, the only way I can describe my reaction to this is a loud and anguished 'AAAAUGH'. It's the equivalent of listing "I'm too devoted to my work" as a fault in a job interview.
Bull. Effing. Skite.

I'm going to stop ranting now. It doesn't make me feel any better. Sometimes, a girl just needs a manicure to distract her from the godmodders.

Because unlike them, I'll admit my nailpolish chips.
