Genesis X
After school, I had to prepare for camp on the weekend. I was able to get the day off of work and the weekend off by switching weekends with Cedric. I kinda left all the packing for the last minute, like everything else. Oh well! sweatdrop
We got all packed up and left to go camping in London, Ontario, which was about 3hours away. We stopped for Tim Hortons, like we always do every trip for a little break.
When we got to Camp Genesis X in Dorchester, it was dark and cold. We couldn't bring the trailer over to our campsite, so another truck with a trailer carried us and our equipment to the campsite. We set up our tents and kitchen area right away. We did the opening ceremony, had hot chocolate, then went to sleep. It was pretty cold at night, and I hate sleeping in my stupid mummy sleepingbag. It's so hard to turn. stressed And I really hate waking up in the middle of a cold night, especially, just to go pee.
When we woke up, we ate oatmeal, then went to sign up for some activities.
First we got airbrush tattoos. I got a dragon on my wrist.
I signed up for ale drinking, Heather signed up for the messy dice game, and Blair signed up for the messy musical chairs game. They say we could only take a shower if we get really messy, but I doubt anyone got really messy.
We didn't have margirin for the grilled cheese for lunch, so we had to bargin with the group next to us. They needed another propane tank, but it seems that we came too late. We gave them the rest of our chocolates instead. gonk crying
Later, it came to the events. I was first up, for the drinking contest. The person who drinks 2 cans of Ginger Ale the fastest during each round won. I gulped down as much as I could of my first can as soon as it started, but then it came to me, and I couldn't take any more. It started coming up, but of course I was alright. Then it ended. Someone had won, and I hadn't even finished my first can. I was the last one in my round. Oh well. I felt sick of Ginger Ale after that. I wanted to throw up, but I didn't. I never want to see another Ginger Ale for the rest of my life. I'm not a pop drinker. I normally drink milk, so I'm not used to drinking ale.
Noone from my group signed up for the pie eating contest, so we just watched it anyways. It was fun watching people stuff their faces with pie! blaugh rofl They weren't allowed to use their hands or forks, so they stuck their heads in. There was a tie for the winners.
Heather and Blair skipped their contests. xp stare So I didn't get to watch them get messy.
We checked out the playground, which had a zipline, and other fun stuff, and people smashing a car they set up. When we got back to the campsite as we waited for Doug to get back with our chocolates, Heather and I fell asleep on our chairs. Well, I tried to sleep anyway. A truck drove by and the guy in the back shouted, "Hey you! Wake up! No sleeping here!" What a jerk! stare scream I didn't really get to sleep anyways. I just watched the back of my eyelids. xp
We went to watch Doug repel on the repelling wall. He even went upside down too.
Fall the rest of the evening, we stayed at the campsite and started a fire. I learned to chop wood. It was warm around the fire. We cooked and ate spaghetti with sauce and garlic bread. It was good!
It got colder, so we stayed around the fire, and a couple of other leaders decided to join us too. We roasted marshmellows over the fire too and had s'mores. Our neighbours were screeching so loud, they sounded like screaming dead monkeys. They were sooo noisy and annoying.
I slept even better that night. I was a lot warmer, thanks to Heather who let me borrow her fleece blanket that I put in my sleeping bag. It was still difficult to turn in it, but I was a lot warmer. 3nodding biggrin 4laugh
The next morning was a lot warmer. It was still a bit cold, but I was incredibly warm. We went to the closing ceremony and had our little Remembrance Day session too. When we left, we noticed that the trailer was driving a little odd. Doug went out to check it out and noticed that the tailor lights had completely ripped off and somehow caught on the trailor wheel. The rubber on the wheel ripped off so we had to turn into Tim Hortons to check it out and replace it with a spare tire. That one was too big for the trailor, so Doug and Roy went with the truck looking for another wheel for the trailor while the rest of us stayed at Tim Hortons for 2 hours. stare We were sooo looking forward to coming home to our nice warm houses and showers, but it took even longer thanks to the wheel. crying
We got back on the road and went to Taco Bell for lunch. We ordered the food to go since we wanted to get home earlier. We would've arrived home at around 3:30ish if it wasn't for the wheel, but instead got home at 6pm. I still had homework and other stuff to handle. crying

I'm still stressed about all the assignments due this week, but hopefully I'll get through.

heart heart heart heart heart

Well, It must of been fun camping, even though there was a few things that went wrong. I hate when the wheel of your car or trailer...or motercycle (I guess) s' wheel. It's annoying. Good luck with your project! smile
