Has a tribal looking mark covering the outer rim of both ears, being the sign of his pact.
Bio-He was born a mute, but in order to make up for such a vital ability, he was granted the gift of extraordinary hearing upon the same coming. Because he could never speak, however, he never made any friends in the outside world. They thought he was wierd, and thus, never spoke to him. Because of this and his own parent's thoughts, he never went to a school. He stayed home with his parents, who also despised him because of his abnormality. They seemed to care, but he always knew that they really hated him. He could hear them talking at night when he was supposed to be asleep. Although it was still very possible for him to learn to talk through sign language, his parents never let him learn. They were too lazy and full of hate to do such a thing as give him a chance to at least communicate to them through anything other than paper. Realizing that no one would ever really care about him, he started to just sit up in his room and read. Through reading, he started to take on a new life. Although he read a lot of novels like most other people did, he also read a lot of textbooks and books on theories, thus, his IQ was immense. It happened to be, though, that even with his new love, he was lonely. Knowing that he still couldn't keep in constant contact with humans, however, he knew he would just have to play pretend. And so it happened that he began to create a puppet. It wasn't as realistic as a robot, but the supplies required were too great for him to just simply acquire. During the process of building his little friend, however, he ran out of supplies and had to take a trip to the local store. Although not his favorite place, it was required if he ever wanted to feel partially fulfilled. As he was looking for more supplies, however, a book fell out of shelf nearby...a book that, although he didn't realize it at that very moment, would change his entire life. As he walked over and picked it up to put it back on the shelf, it became very obvious that this book was never meant to be placed there. It wasn't actually even supposed to be in this store. The book was dusted over, worn, torn around its hard-cover, and was basically falling apart. Interested in why someone might have misplaced it, he opened it up and began reading. The book was like nothing he had ever read before. It spoke of ancient methods, of binding two objects by connecting them through heart, mind, and soul, and making one's life the other's. It spoke of the benefits and consequences, in which both objects would be greatly strengthened, but the main life force would lose the most precious thing they had. It talked of possible powers, even things once lost possibly being recovered. As he kept on reading, he knew that this was meant to happen. He closed the book back up and hid it away, then continued getting the supplies. When he returned home later, he finished the puppet and continued reading the book, hoping that it would tell of how to perform this binding of two objects, this 'pact'. As he got to the end, the method was as clear to him as anything else could be. He had very few worries about the process. Actually, the only thing that really should worry him was the mention of losing something precious to him. But honestly, he could think of nothing that was precious to him but books...and with something living that he could actually speak to (and if it worked out like he hoped, he could speak to anyone), then he would have no need for anything like a book. Actually, his life would be rather fulfilled. Of course, there was also the other problem...the second life that he would have to worry about. After much contemplation, he finally came up with an idea: he would make the pact with the puppet. The puppet had no initial life to begin with, and in such, he would have less to worry about, because the puppet would owe him and would be forced to stay near him at all times. He picked up the puppet by its threads and looked it up and down. It was rather scary looking, but there was an odd essence of good surrounding it, which held his initial plans. He then performed the pact...and from there, his life was sent spiralling. Upon the issuing of the pact, he had to give part of his heart to the other being. What was not mentioned in the book was that the pact was intended for two living beings...and thus, a giant shift in atmosphere occurred when the pact took hold. Kaano's body went cold and he passed out instantly, the half of his heart almost stopping. Two days later, he finally took conciousness again, his entire body feeling different. There was a natural chill surrounding him, and although it was very slight, he could feel a force swirling in his hands as though if he just sprung them forward a little bit, he could shoot out magic flames. And so he looked it, and there was something odd there. The puppet that he had created was now dangling from a silver-white, transparent thread, and had its arms crossed, as though it was growing impatient. He brought his hand back down to the floor and let go of the threads, which instantly disappeared. The threads were now magic. And from what he could tell, he had the ability to conjure them up or get rid of them at will. The small puppet had then started walking around, finally being able to explore his new surroundings. While the chibi was doing so, Kaano got up and began to look around at everything else. Not too long after starting, though, he had realized that something else was different: he couldn't hear anything. He quickly ran to the mirror and pushed his hair behind his ears. Come to discover, the pact did take the thing most precious to him...it took his gift of hearing. This is where everything began to take a change...
