She sat on the school building's edge, watching everyone below. Two hazel brown pools of color were her eyes, hiding behind the bangs of her deep dark chocolate brown hair. She was rather scared to come down, but not scared of other people. No, no.
She was scared of hurting them.
You see, her power was not a power that could be hidden for very long, especially not with a pankster power absorbing brother like hers. She stared at her hands, which seemed to vibrate a little due to her emotions. However, she knew what it was as whisps of purple floated from her fingertips. It reminded her so much of that day...
It was July, 9 2004 and she and her older brother was at a party. By this time, she was already aware of her powers. She didn't really want to go, but her family begged her. She noticed that her brother had been hugging her a lot, but she didn't understand until her mom's friend came into the backyard hysterical, saying that the cake exploded in her face. Her brother used her powers to do it.
Perhaps going into detail about the fifteen-year old's powers is in order. To put it simply, this teenager can make things increase their kinetic energy. Sometimes, she can use it like a laser, others, she can use it to make things explode. The more energy, the more potency, the bigger explosion.
Now, since she found out about her powers, she has been scared around other people. However, she wanted so badly to make new friends, so there she was, standing several feet from the others, breathing deep. She could feel the wind blow her shoulder-length hair back and forth. Her arms folded themselves against her pale blue and white summery dress tightly, the sleeves of her darker blue sweater being pulled over her hands. Her white dressy shoes moved back and forth, from the ball of her foot to her heel as she hesitated, trying to calm down. Finally, as she heard the boy called -- speak, she started to, the girl called Audrey. "Excuse me," she started, barely a whisper. Then she lost all hope as she forgotten what she had planned to say. She tried to play it off and smile softly.

Me: xD YES Tate, that's usually what a girl is like.
Tetum: But she's never been all soft and whatnot with me. T.T
