These last two months have been long,
but at last they are done.
Now I have but a year to go,
before my time is at last done...

I have returned for the holidays,
as dark as they may be.
But they are a time to spend with family,
for this will be the last time...

I am here for the time being,
here to enjoy what can be.
But what is left to enjoy?
For there is now, only me...

She has left and gone away,
leaving only my family.
They work during the dark,
and I, function during the light of day...

So here I sit,
here in this spinning chair.
Waiting for the clock to strike,
the hated waiting hour...
