5-1 Win
12:20 PM: Montreal's roadtrip continues in Sunrise against the Florida Panthers. We lost the first two games this season against the Cats in Montreal. This will be the third one in 2007. Montreal has gained 5 out of a possible 8 points so far. If one Kostitsyn has a point, so far, the other one also has one. Olli Jokinen is probably the Panther who is the most dominant against the Habs.
8:21 PM: Even with the Powerplay lowered to the third best in the NHL, Montreal leads 3-0 against the Florida Panthers! 3 goals on 3 shots is pretty damn good! The Canadiens applied alot of pressure and it resulted into three goals, but as the game went on, we seemed to let loose a bit, especially at the end of the period. Cristobal wasn't busy in the beginning but near the half of the period, he was sweating way more. Guillaume Latendresse, Michael Ryder -finally!- and Christopher Higgins -W00TZ- scored. 11th for Latendresse, 4th for Ryder and 14th for Higgins. Saku Koivu skated behind the net, passed up-front to Roman Hamrlik, he took a shot and #84 scores on a rebound. 1-0 Montreal. Josh Gorges passes to Ryder by the boards, an odd-man rush with Higgins, #73 passes to #21, who quickly gives it back for Michael, he shoots and scores! 2-0 Habs. 13 seconds later, Chris Higgins scores by a pass from Maxim Lapierre after the Panthers messed up. 3-0 Canadiens! 1 goal, 1 assist for Higgins so far.
9:11 PM: The lead has grown by 1, making 4-0 Montreal. Habs have not been fighting like they did in the first period. The powerplay seems to not be working well, 0-5 PP tonight. Huet still solid but not spectacular. Tom Kostopoulos scored the fourth with Mark Streit's help. Florida is leading in shots 26-12.
10:10 PM: 5-1 Montreal Final! I think we can call the BankAtlantic Center "Little Montreal"! When Habs scores, the crowd cheers, when the Panthers doesn't get a penalty or scores, the fans booed. Amazing... Home away from home! Ryan O'Byrne, or "OOOH BURN!" as I call him, fought twice against Krepts and Glass and it pretty cool... hehe... Damn Jokinen... It had to be HIM! Whatever! We won and that's what important! Mark Streit finished the score with a goal prepared by Chris Higgins and Andrei Markov! 7 out of a possible 10 points on this roadtrip so far! Higgins gets 1 goal and 2 assists, Mark Streit, 1 goal, 1 assist.
My three Stars: 1-Christopher Higgins 2-Mark Streit 3-Cristobal Huet Honorable Mentions: Montreal Canadiens in general.
Score sheet: Montreal: Guillaume Latendresse, Michael Ryder, Christopher Higgins, Tom Kostopoulos, Mark Streit Florida: Olli Jokinen
Next Game: New York Rangers, December 30th.
