3-1 Win
Game Preview: Montreal headed to Uniondale in the pass days. Tonight, Montreal will face another New Yorker team, the Islanders. Christopher Higgins has been very good against his hometown team. He amassed 7 goals and a +5. Michael/Mike Komisarek is also a native of Long Island. Cristobal Huet will play in net for Montreal, once again. DiPietro will probably start, a childhood friend of Higgins.
1st Period: Tomas Plekanec scores for Montreal to make a 1-0 lead in the first period! Amazing game from either size. Rick DiPietro... what can I say... one ******** b*****d! HE'S INCREDIBLE!! His puck control... wow... He closes his angles so well! Pleks made a great move to beat him... seriously, what a goaltender. Cristobal has been very good as well. But it's only a mather of time until the Islanders apply to much pressure and get a goal. But Montreal has been playing well defensively. Offensively, we could have gotten more shots, it's just that we make hard plays. Description of Habs' goal: The Islanders were handling the puck badly, and Tomas Plekanec made a turnover. Pleks moves towards the goaler from the right. DiPietro thinks he will take a shot, but #14 dekes one more time, the goaltender has to move, and Tomas shoots in the top right corner, and scores! 1-0 Montreal.
2nd period: Oy! Montreal leads 2-0 against the Islanders! New York is rally unlucky! If it's not post, it's a miss chance. But we cannot say it's all luck. Huet has been wonderful! Great intensity so far! Great Offense and defense from both sides. Description of Habs' goal: Sergei Kostitsyn get a penalty, Montreal on a PK. Montreal kills the penalty for about 1:50. Then Kovalev gets the puck to Plekanec. With Markov on his side, they are on a 2-on-1. Instead of passing, Plekanec beats Rick DiPietro and makes it 2-0 for Montreal.
Final: 3-1 Montreal Final! Great game from Montreal after losing to the Rangers! It was the Tomas Plekanec and Alex Kovalev show! It seems like their is alot of chemistry between these two. Rick DiPietro and Cristobal Huet played a very good game! I wish that Higgins would score though. I didn't get to see the rest of the match so I didn't see the last goal.
My three Stars: 1-Tomas Plekanec 2-Alex Kovalev 3-Richard Park
