3-2 Shootout win
Game Preview: Montreal flied to Atlanta recently to face the Atlanta Thrashers tonight. Steve Begin has gotten the permission of the doctors to play, but Carbonneau will stay patient and will let Begin sit this game. Breezer will sit this one out as well. Do not expect any major changes to the roster, not even the goaltender. We try for a third time this season to keep Ilya Kovalchuk off the score sheet.
1st Intermission: 1-0 Atlanta after 20 minutes. Koivu and Higgins... are... amazing... Okay, they did not get any goals, but did a great job creating chances. Sergei Kostitsyn is a really addition to the first line. Really good start from Montreal. Defensive plays weren't bad too. The most horrible thing so far was that last call! Kovalchuk fell on his own! Bouillon made contact, yes, but he did not make Ilya fall! Atlanta even scored... wtf... Atleast, it wasn't "really" his fault. It bounced off his blocker.
2nd Intermission: It's tied 1-1 after 2 periods. Andrei Kostitsyn made what could be the highlight of this month, and even the next! An absolutely incredibly wonderful goal! Tobias Enstrom got pawned by Sergei Kostitsyn... I felt so sorry for Enstrom... As usual, the second period was mediocre. Nothing spectacular, more turnovers, etc., etc. Huet has been very good lately. The Powerplay seems dead, missing all of our chances. 22-14 shots for Montreal. Description of goals: Andrei Kostitsyn beats two players and the goaltender with his amazing stick handling. 1-1. Markov and Plekanec gets an assist.
3rd Intermission: 2-2 after 3 periods! Way to go Huet! You were amazing... except on that turnover! He seemed very shaky after the second Thrasher goal for about 5 minutes. Montreal played better than the second but should have capitalized on our chances. Oh my gawd. I think the refs can't count! Atlanta made a bad change and their was about 6-7 men on ice! Whatever... Going in OT. Description of goals: Michael Ryder gets a goal on an odd-man rush with Brian Smolinski and Guillaume Latendresse. 2-1 Montreal. Huet makes a bad play and Pascal Dupuis scores. 2-2.
OT Intermission: Nothing is solved in OT. Going to another Shootout in a game vs Atlanta! Both games this year against Atlanta finished 3-2 in a shootout! Atlanta got the better of it. 2-5 for Montreal, but 5-2 for Atlanta... complete opposite!
Final: The shoot out gets under way. Atlanta goes first.
Kozlov vs. Huet: Kozlov misses the net. A. Kostitsyn vs. Lethonen: The other AK SCORES! What another goal! Between the legs! Hossa vs. Huet: Hossa tries to beat him by the sides, but Huet STOPS it! What a save! Koivu vs. Lethonen: KOIVU SCORES!! LETHONEN CAN'T CONTROL THE PUCK! MONTREAL WINS IT!!
*sigh of relief* Montreal wins this game in a shootout 3-2! Cristobal Huet saves the game with two huge save in the Shootout against Kozlov and Hossa! Koivu and Andrei Kostitsyn got goals in the shootout! Huet improved immensively on shootout! 6/8 points on this road trip.

Scoresheet: Montreal: Andrei Kostitsyn, Michael Ryder, Saku Koivu ((Shootout goal)) Atlanta: Marian Hossa, Pascal Dupuis
