Behold! The Valentine's Day special chapter to Secret of the Land of the Whirlpool. To knock things off, it's been nine months since Toukun married Asuka. She's expecting a baby in approximately a week. Let's join them during their time.

I warn some of you that haven't experienced romance like this yet, this will have some romantic description in it. It is a Valentine's Day special. I know this doesn't apply to everyone. This is only to younger readers if I have any.

Senshi gave a loud caw in front of Toukun's face at the bedside. The former ninja gave some groans and finally got out of bed. He woke up to the smell of pancakes. Asuka was in the kitchen fixing breakfast. Toukun walked downstairs to see his wife hard at work on the stove. He gave a grin a gave a surprise hug from behind. He's kept some of his shinobi skills at least.

Toukun said after making Asuka jump, "You don't have to make breakfast. You should be at the hospital or resting." He rubbed his spouse's pregnant tummy and hug his head on her shoulder.

Asuka gave him a kiss on the lips. She turned the stove off and put all the pancakes on two plates. She put a single pancake on one plate for Senshi. She replied to her new husband, "I know I shouldn't be working. I just want to. Who knows what would happen if I let you and Senshi take over the house?" She and Toukun laughed together.

He responded, "Yeah, that's true. But we wouldn't be totally helpless." He gave her a second kiss on the lips. "Come on. Let's eat now." Toukun pulled out a chair for Asuka after laying down their plates, forks, knives, and glasses of milk. Senshi sat to Toukun's right while Asuka sat to the left.

After eating their breakfast, Asuka went to cleaning the house, and Toukun went to work in jean overalls because he worked at a manufacturing company. He hoped he would rise up and be able to manage people so that he wouldn't have to wear these rags all the time.

When Toukun arrived at his work, the former ninja changed into something more dark. He fled the bathroom stall without anyone sighting him. He was just a shadow to the public with dark clothing all over his body. The only things sightable were his eyes and hair. Then Senshi flew to Toukun's shoulder in wait.

The dark raven couldn't be seen by anyone since he blended in with Toukun. Both of them seemed to be like one statue together. Unmoving, but they were always on alert.

Suddenly, an emergency bell rang loud as a store was being robbed. The thief ran through the streets clear as day. Senshi flew and knocked him in the head from behind; then Toukun came from the front to trip the thief. Before any other ninja could arrive, or anyone realized what happened, the thief was hanging from a lamp post by his feet, stripped of all his weapons, and scared out of his wit.

The public saw only a glimpse of a speeding shadow when it all happened. They cheered out, "Kage no Desu! Kage no Desu! Kage no Desu!" Toukun went to the corner of another building. He smirked. He liked the name they gave him, yet he never killed anyone. This is because his name meant "Shadow of Death" or "Death Shadow".

Toukun pet his pet's head and whispered, "Good job. Let's go get some 'groceries' Senshi. You were great today." He and Senshi jumped off to the farms after he changed back into his jean overalls. Kage no Desu walked up to a man that owned a farm shop in the country part of town.

Toukun walked up to the counter and said, "Hey, Bobby. Do you have some apples, tomatoes, and all those other normal ingredients."

The farmer chuckled. His rough beard that went down to his chin and moustache that covered his upper lip muffled his voice. He also knew about Toukun's secret ever since he started it. He said, "Sure we do. But why are you here for that? Shouldn't you be at the hospital right now?"

Toukun looked confused. "What do you mean? I haven't been hurt."

"Oh, not you. Isn't Asuka delivering right now?" Bobby said with a little raspiness in his voice. He got the groceries that Toukun needed from the back. By the time Bobby got to the counter, Toukun had left in a flash, jumping from rooftop to rooftop as fast as he could in his jean overalls still. "Hm... he must've not known."

Toukun had two other leaf shinobi get beside him. The one on the right said, "Halt! You are not a certified ninja! You must get down!"

"I can't! My wive's delivering!" Toukun shouted at the leaf ninja with some sadness in his face. He never saw what happened, but suddenly the two ninja beside him suddenly stopped. The expecting father looked back to see Fenix and Rin holding the first ninja. Tears were covering his sight, but he smiled, wiped his eyes, and said, "Thanks guys."

"Get going, Kage no Desu!" Fenix yelled out in with a laugh.

"You have a son to get to!" Rin shouted. She was already three months pregnant herself. Both of them knocked out the leaf shinobi with a push of their pressure points. They walked to each other and hugged. Rin laid her head onto Fenix's chest as she watched Toukun jump away to Asuka's need.

You are forewarned. I will put this next part in white color. For one, I don't know if it isn't against Gaian ToS. For two, it might get weird at a point. I know that anyone thirteen or older can read it. So, just highlight the next part if you want to read it.

Toukun arrived at the hospital. Asuka had been screaming out, "Where's Toukun?"

The nurse answered, "We informed his work place. They say they've never heard of him." That might've been the wrong thing to say at the time.

"What?!?!" Asuka screamed, pushing some of the baby out. She screamed more as just part of the head showed, the doctor reported to her.

Toukun was stopped by two nurses this time. He shouted, "That's my wife! You've got to let me see her!"

One nurse said, "Calm down, sir. We'll tell her your here." Toukun bit his bottom lip so hard that it be to slightly bleed. The other nurse stayed out in the waiting room in case Toukun tried to burst into the room.

Once the first nurse told Asuka that Toukun was here, she was filled with joy in her heart. She didn't show it on the outside, but she was glad that she was here all-in-all.

Okay, now you can stop highlighting. Here's the rest of the story.

After many minutes (since I have no idea how long it takes to birth a child) of pushing, screaming, and comforting, Toukun was allowed to go into the room. He found Asuka holding their baby boy. Rin and Fenix entered behind Toukun, holding hands with a smile on their faces.

Toukun knelt at his wife's side. He whispered, "What should we call him?" He joked, "Senshi? Sindri?"

Asuka gave a soft scowl to her husband. "Don't even joke." She held her boy to her chest. "How about Tidus? That sounds like a good name, don't you?"

Toukun nodded. He played with his boy's tummy with his tiny pinky finger. Tidus gripped back instinctively.

"Heh, that's a great name," Toukun said, agreeing.

About three weeks later, both of them were at home with the boy. Toukun almost left out the door before Asuka caught him.

She called out, "Toukun! Stay!"

"But... I need to go to work," Toukun pleaded.

"I know what your work is now. Why do you always insist on being a ninja... Kage no Desu?" she asked seriously. Tidus was tightly wrapped in her arms at her breasts.

Toukun dropped his hand from the nob of the door. "So... you know." Asuka nodded. "I can't stop being a ninja, Asuka. Although I said I'd give it up for you... I'm sorry! I just... need it. I get free groceries for protecting the farmers from dangerous bugs and other pets and rodents. I'm helping the village. Please... just let me help out. I do a much better job in security than the ninja in this village, too." He held her hand and knelt onto his knee. "My first priority... is always you, though. I was there with you for the baby during delivery. I'll always be there with you."

Asuka's mouth slowly formed into a smile. "Well... alright. Make me proud. Shadow of Death." She gave him a kiss on the lips, and he left out to help the village again with Senshi, his trusted companion. Toukun would keep doing this, too, until the day he died.

Yeah, kind of a corny ending. But, hey, I couldn't just end the story right after the birth. Know how much disappointing and boring that would be? Tch, a lot, if I was reading!
