5-1 Win
Game Preview: The trade deadline has ended. Marian Hossa and Pascal Dupuis went to the Pittsburgh Penguins, while Cristobal Huet took a plane to play with Alexander Ovechkin in Washington. Carey Price was expected to play for a long time now. Halak will probably be the back up goaltender.
1st Intermission: 1-0 Montreal with a Lapierre goal. Montreal has gotten alot of momentum with continuous passing in the last two minutes of the period. Grabovski isn't bad at all after his recall. Carey Price is playing quite well. Maybe the fact that his goaltending rival is gone has given him some confidence. This is a pretty good game so far. For once we have gotten the first goal of the game. Bouillon and Gorges got assists. 11-10 shots on goal for Thrashers.
2nd Intermission: It's tied at one in Montreal! Thrashers playing pretty well without Hossa. What a shot from Mike Komisarek! Touched the post inside but bounces off to Lethonen's skate! Not alot of whistles though, or I'm not paying alot of attention to it. This is a good game, but not like a play-off one, like we've seen on other nights. Carey Price is playing very well too! Good movements and positioning. 21-18 shots for Atlanta.
Final: Habs win 5-1 against the Thrashers! Great third period! Four goals! On Sergei Kostitsyn first shot in eight periods, he touches the net precisely! Good thing we didn't trade Higgins away! What a game from his part, 2 goals, 1 assist. Carey Price made very good saves that kept us in the game when both teams were tied at one. Some players had a 2+ point game.
My three Stars: 1-Chris Higgins 2-Carey Price 3-Andrei Markov Honorable Mentions: Sergei Kostitsyn, Maxim Lapierre, Francis Bouillon, Saku Koivu.
Scoresheet: Montreal: Maxim Lapierre, Chris Higgins (2 goals), Andrei Markov, Sergei Kostitsyn. Atlanta: Ilya Kovalchuk
Next Game: Buffalo Sabres, FEB 29th.
