6-4 Loss
Game Preview: Montreal Canadiens' Defenseman Craig Rivet was traded to the San Jose Sharks for Defenseman Josh Gorges and a first round pick in 2007(Max Pacioretty) last year some days before the trade deadline. This will be the first time that Rivet will face his former team and best friend on the Habs team, Saku Koivu. This game will be presented at 10:30 Eastern time. Montreal gets to see western team rarely. The Habs will still be able to get two points from a western team for another four time. This is the beginning of a four game road trip in the Pacific Division. Carey Price will guard the net against Joe Thornton, Jonathan Cheechoo, while Habs will attempt to score against Evgeni Nabokov.
1st Intermission: What a game. It's a good one! They are tied at two. Sa njose started off strong but Habs made a small comeback. (Sidenote: Gasp! Terry Mitchell speaks french!) Carey Price was interesting laying on the ice, waiting for a goaltender obstruction... against Smolinki. Not really his fault, but Smolinski, on the other, is killing it. By it, I mean momentum. It probably is his worse game so far. Three words for Ryan O'Byrne: What, A, Shot! I barely saw it coming! I really like how the San Jose defensemen are on their toes when Kovalev gets the puck.
2nd Intermission: WHAT THE ******** ARE WITH THESE DAMN REFEREES?! Oh my gawd they are dumb. Seriously, bording, goaltender interference, interference, and even too many men. *sigh* This is absolutely one of the worse referees' game. Okay, so it 4-3 Sharks. I'm a bit dissapointed in Shelley's goal. It was at the blueline and it got in. That was bad jugement from Carey. Onto the offence. WHAT A GOAL FROM PLEKANEC! It was a crazy play from Markov intercepting Grier's attempt to freeing his zone, then a quick pass from Kovalev. This prooves, more or less, that we can play in the Eastern, but maybe only for short term. Our team isn't the biggest, but one of the fastest.
Final: I like this building! I never thought that a place like San Jose, a hot place would have a great crowd. Set aside the ******** up Refs, this is was really now really one heck of an amazing game! It's dissapointing that we lost 6-4, but we manage to reply four times. The Sharks never had a two goals lead for more than 2 minutes in the ENTIRE game. Oh, my, gawd, Brian Campbell is amazing with his spin-o-rama! I loved it so much! I really wouldn't mind if the Habs would move to the West, if they were to get closer. Smolinski had a first bad period. Carey Price seemed a little bit discouraged after the fourth goal he allowed. I think he was happy when it ended. Evgeni Nabokov played very well as well. *sigh* Too bad we don't see western teams more often. I am REALLY exited for Sunday's game now! Playing against the Ducks. Also, I'm surprised that there was so many goals scored.
My three Stars: 1-Joe Thornton 2-Tomas Plekanec 3-Jonathan Cheechoo Honorable Mentions: Mike Grier, Brian Campbell.
Score sheet: Montreal: Tomas Plekanec (2 goals), Ryan O'Byrne, Maxim Lapierre San Jose: Patrick Marleau, Joe Thorton (2 goals), Jody Shelley, Jonathan Cheechoo, Brian Campbell.
Next Game: Phoenix Coyotes, MAR 6th.
