5-2 Win
Game Preview: Habs continues their roadtrip in the sunshine of the West. Montreal plays at 4 Eastern at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Jaroslav Halak will start for the first time this season. Erik Ersberg will guard the net for the Kings. Tom Kostopoulos will face his former team for the first time.
1st Intermission: No scoring at the Staples Center between Montreal and Los Angeles. The shot count is 10-10. The refs are morons, once again. They refused a goal scored by Preissing, because their was "supposively" goaltender interference. Habs had a good start, but Kings kept on fighting to make it a tight game. Halak made really impressive saves, and did Ersberg. This is a good european goalie duel.
2nd Intermission: Montreal leading 3-1 against Los Angeles. Guillaume Latendresse finally unblocks with his 15th of the season from an amazing play prepared by Sergei Kostitsyn and Josh Gorges. Patrice Brisebois and Saku Koivu gets the first two goals of the game. Halak has been incredible lately. He's been very good against shots from up close. He only let in Blake's goal on a Kings Powerplay. This period only lasted 19:13 seconds! I am getting annoyed that Habs keep letting so many shots. 27-17 for Kings.
Final: Montreal defeats Los Angeles 5-2! Jaroslav Halak has been solid in the net for us. Tom Kostopoulos gets an empty netter against his old team. I'm surprised with how many Habs fans there is in there! Los Angeles fought hard to try and tie up the game, but the Habs defense did enough and our power kill made the difference. We managed to kill off a penalty that could have cost us the game. It's gonna be hard to know who's going to play in net tomorrow.
My three Stars: 1-Jaroslav Halak 2-Guillaume Latendresse 3-Anze Kopitar Honorable Mentions: Roman Hamrlik.
Scoresheet: Montreal: Patrice Brisebois, Saku Koivu, Guillaume Latendresse, Andrei Kostitsyn, Tom Kostopoulos. Los Angeles: Rob Blake, Anze Kopitar.
Next game: Anaheim Ducks, MAR 9th.
