I've been sick for a couple of days, but I am getting better. The first day (Tuesday) was like a casual stroll through the most painful pits of hell. No joke. I just have a sore throat now. Unfortunately, it is working through the rest of the family. The littlest one was sick about the same time that I was. Now my 10 year old is home sick from school. My husband seems to have a milder version, or it just hasn't come on full-strength yet.
I am just hoping my 8 year old can wait til the weekend to get sick so she doesn't have to miss too much school. I know that sounds awful, but she's missed quite a bit of school already this year, all for legitimate illness. cry
In other news, I've been sending out small gifts here on Gaia today. I don't know how much people will appreciate what they get, but it has made me happy to send the gifts.
I just made one of those "MyMiniCity" things. I realize there's no real point to those things, but... If you read this, consider visiting Dolorida to increase my population so that the city can grow. 4laugh Feel free to leave a message on the "News Bulletin" there so I know who is visiting my little city... It looks like one house right now, so I don't know if you can really call that a city, but maybe someday...
I am working on a screenplay for ScriptFrenzy. It's a little silly, surreal, and nonsensical, but I am having a blast writing it. It's going much better for me than NaNoWriMo. I haven't yet determined if that's because it's not November (a traditionally CRAZY month, second only to December in sheer chaos) or because the format is just easier for me. Or maybe it is because a page count is a lot easier for me to get my head around than a word count. Last year, IIRC, ScriptFrenzy was a 20k word goal. This year, it is a hundred page goal. I spend more time writing and less time checking how many words I've added.
My tea kettle is whistling. Time to go make tea. And then I have to clean house. No excuses, no escape. It has to be done today.
