(this isn't a full story, but a piece of one that i decided to make...it was actually part of an English project, but I decided to make it into a full story!!)
Standing in front of the mirror, Aphrodite looked at her pale face. Every single feature stood out on her face, the main one was her old tattoo of a red dragon spiraling around her right eye. Her gorgeous black hair with red highlights was completely straight and it framed her face.
The door slammed open right then, making her jump and turn her strikingly blue eyes onto the cause. Like always, her breath caught at the sight of her best friend's handsome features. He had his sunglasses that he usually wears outside of the house pulled back on his head, making his sleek black, long hair pushed back and flat against his head, making him look like a foreign movie star.
"We'll be late Nyx," he said casually, using her middle name as a normal nickname. Closing her eyes, she took a deep breath and let it out. The two of them were being called to the police station to have the weekly questioning about what's happening, because of course they weren't trusted because of the fact that they were half-blooded vampires. Gracefully, she glided out of her room with Darius in tow behind her.
"You two leaving now?" Darius' mother, Mrs. Jacobs, asked as the two passed the kitchen.
"Yes," Aphrodite said softly. Mrs. Jacobs' arms went around her in a warm embrace.
"Don't worry a thing dear," she said in a thick Japanese accent. Aphrodite nodded slightly and let go of the embrace. The woman kissed her cheek before going back into the kitchen. Afterwards, Aphrodite and Darius slid out of the front door to the outside. Before she knew it, Darius poked her on both sides, making her jump about three feet in the air.
"DARIUS!" Aphrodite snapped as she whirled around. When she did just that, he wrapped her into a hug.
"You needed it. You always do," he explained while letting go. She rolled her eyes and headed on. Darius trotted up beside her and kept an eye out for trouble as they walked towards the normal sidewalk they took to get to the police station. People stared at them as they passed by because they obviously could tell by their extraordinary beauty that they weren't like the rest of the humans. Some were even brave enough to flit a smile or even a nice hello in their direction. Aphrodite gave a polite smile to each in return and a sweet reply to the few "hello's".
After a few minutes of their own silence, Aphrodite opened her mouth to say something. Right before she ever could, a high pitched screech filled her ears. She covered them with her hands and grimaced in pain.
"Shoot!" Darius said loudly and pulled her forward even faster. "We have to stay on their trail!" he pointed to the quick moving figure ahead of them. She nodded and pulled her hands away when the sound faded away. The two of them rushed at an even faster speed and followed the stranger through alleyways and passages unknown to normal humans.
Before they knew it, the figure slowed to a stop, making them come to an abrupt stop right before it did. Darius peered over the figure's shoulders to find a group of full-blooded vampires wrapped around another figure. Aphrodite closed her eyes to search certain minds, all full of blood lust, except for one. The one amongst the others was full of fear and pain.
"Dang it! They're attacking ANOTHER poor half-blood!" she hissed to Darius. She then jumped onto a large metal container, taller than all of the vampires, and cleared her throat. All of the vampires looked up with their blood red eyes and bared teeth. The little half-blood girl was peering at her with frightened eyes, so frightened that she was half out of consciousness.
"s**t, it's her!" some grumbled under their breath before trying to escape. Darius got there quicker and blocked them. A fireball formed on each of Aphrodite's hands in warning.
"What do you think you're doing here?" she commanded to all of them. They fell back in fear, all but one. That one stepped forward, his whole body shaking conspicuously.
"Respecting justice! What do you think? Half-bloods are not supposed to be in this world!" he spit at her feet with all his courage.
"Dear, you're going to have to accept them. You may dislike them, but you can't go around killing them! This world is filled with as many half-bloods as there are werewolves, humans, AND full-bloods!" Aphrodite snapped with an evil glare shot straight at him. "I gave you ALL a second chance, and I'm almost convinced that I shouldn't give you a third! I would seriously believe that you guys wouldn't want to burn up like your other brethren," she said in a false sweet voice while still glaring at all of them.
"Does she have to make this speech again?" Darius called out angrily. A few of the vampire's eyes swiveled to his direction. "Don't you CARE about your pathetic little lives?" he asked. "If you did, then you wouldn't have made the same mistake!" They looked back at Aphrodite whose face was still glimmering in the fire's light. "You better be glad that I'm allowing you one last chance to live! Respect it!" she hissed and nodded her head. Darius quickly stepped aside to let them leave. When all were gone except for the other half-blood and the leader, Darius blocked him from leaving. Aphrodite hopped off of the metal contraption and lightly landed on her toes. Slowly, she inched towards the guy and Darius stepped away. Fear washed over his face as she made one fireball go out by just closing her hand into a fist. "Don't worry, I'm allowing you to live," she whispered. "But, there's one present I'm leaving you with," she had a harsh tone in her voice as she put her finger onto his cheek. "This isn't anything that I usually do, but you've caused my anger to flare up so badly!" she explained, still whispering in the same tone. Her nail, strong and sharp, barely scraped across his cheek. His eyes squeezed shut in pain as blood dripped out precariously slow. She then leaned over and slightly gave the cut a ginger kiss, making him shudder. Afterwards, she whipped around to face the freaked out little half-blood. "You learned your lesson, now go!" Darius barked at the full-blood and waited for him to leave. Then, he appeared by Aphrodite's side.
"Dear, it's alright, I'm not going to hurt you." she whispered to the young girl. "What's your name?" she tilted her head as she asked softly.
"G-G-G-Glory," the little girl stuttered, still scared half to death.
"How old are you, sweet little Glory?" Aphrodite asked just as softly as she had before.
"Ten," Glory replied, warming up to Aphrodite's explicit kindness. Aphrodite then smiled warmly.
"Come on, let's take you home, those guys won't bother you again," she replied as Darius gently put Glory's arms around his neck and picked her up. The three of them dashed off in search of the girls home.........
(well, tell me how you liked it!!! i know that it's a bit long...)
