Dear Loony B,
I remember when I first met you. Your were so different, set apart from the rest of us. I mean, a part of you just stood out, protruded out from the too small (so it seemed) science lab our freshman year. Your eyes were so bright; so brown, and even though you were as thin as bone (now beautifully built: all protective and gentle) I could tell - really tell - that you were someone important. You didn't seem like much, to most, and yet you were. And there was so much to you, this sense of rarity, that I couldn't quite comprehend.
Over the years I've watched you from the far corner of the classroom. As always, you were charming everyone who crossed paths with you. I wondered why you were so active. It seemed as if you had enough energy for the entire class.
I observed the way the sun danced in your eyes as you danced to your favorite songs. I guess you were rather happy seeing as how the smile on your face never faltered.
I watched you laugh, joking around in the park with a few of your friends; your family. You and Matt and ChuBB always managed to make a mess and when you were angry with them your voice would ring out and everyone else would gather around you. But no matter how angry you were with them, or Bianca, or Ashley, or Me, your eyes never lost their amused gleam.
I watched you cry. Your eyes glistened with tears that day, and you seemed to give up hope. I watched as you tried to wipe them away before someone noticed, but Kelia and I caught you. Its rare to see you so sensitive, so... vulnerable.
I watch you now, across from me. The calmest I've ever seen you. Deep in thought, concentrating. Your eyes are focused on the doodle your creating and I smile because it most likely say, "Loony B." Because you are loony, in a good way, and because you are Brian.
I am an observer and I see everything. Even when you don't know I'm watching. Even when you do. Your one of the closest people to me, like a brother. And your the best.
