I have spent yet another day, completely and totally alone. This leads to some interesting thoughts on my part as you may have already figured out. I being alone started questioning some stuff. Namely my faith. What do I believe in?
Is there an almighty god controlling every facet of every thing? If so who is it?
Or are we as species a series of accidents?
What got me on all of this? Well oddly enough it was an episode of Spiderman. Doc Conners (the lizard) Had accidentally created a race of sub mutants, all of which from his own DNA. So they to were lizards. They thought of him as a god. They worshipped the very thought of him. He had churches and the whole nine-yards. These mutants saw him as god. Doc Conners told Spiderman the story about how all this was an accident. They weren’t supposed to be given life. One of the mutants, I think she was named Mythra, Wanted to save Spidy. Everything has a right to live right? Anyways she gets captured and put in the same cell as Spidy and he relates the story. This drives Mythra mad and she detonates a neogenic bomb in the middle of the coliseum returning all the lizard people back to lizards.
This gets the juices flowing. Are we prepared to know? Would we go just as mad as Mythra did, and ultimately destroy ourselves if we knew the answer? If I had the answer and I knew that it wasn't what we wanted would I lie and tell them a falsehood to keep up their happiness.
Would the answer to this question benefit us? Every day hundreds of people are killed in Jihad (holy war), More are killed in the streets for religious differences. It is in the Bible that "let any man who lay with another be struck dead..." Would an answer saying that yes, there was a god and that yes the bible was right, be harder on the gays? Would they be driven to extinction? Or maybe everything would just remain the way they are. We are kind of a stubborn species Anyways. Maybe if god were right there slapping there still wouldn't be believers.
All in all it's kind of perplexing stuff...SEE WHAT HAPPENS WHEN I'M ALONE! I THINK! I don't like it.
