“Dev, you ask for it every time you touch her.” Dev just finished telling me and Zac what happened this morning.

“Angelo, you actually think that Dev can control himself when he’s near Alex.”

“He never could, especially when he saw her during freshman year of high school.”
Devilen just ignored our comments and asked, “Hey, did you see Ally this morning?”

I sighed and shook my head. He’s always thinking of her. He should seriously ask another girl out. There’s a reason why I dumped Joline. I’ll see if she’s still interested in getting back together, for the hell of it.

But something in the back o my mind said if I even said ‘hi’ to Joline, Alex and Jenn will beat the crap out of me. My thoughts were interrupted by Zac, who answered Dev’s question, “I think she’s skipping school today. I didn’t see her during first or second period.”

“s**t!” Devilen whispered while holding his hand in a tight fist. He was getting worked up over nothing.

I was going to say something, when someone’s voice came from behind me. “Cursing this early in the morning?” That sounded like Alex. And when me and Zac turned around it was her.

“Ally, where the hell was you,” Dev asked while glaring at her and crossing his arms across his chest.

Oh great, I thought, here comes the smartass remarks.

“None of your business.”

“Alexandra!” You could hear the anger in his voice. That usually meant he was worried. But honestly, why would any he need to worry about her.

But Alex never seems to cooperate. “Who the hell are you? My dad?” Then a girl came running and grabbed Alex’s shoulder.

“Oh! Hi Jamie.”

“Sandra you forgot your assignment.”

“Thanks, and when is the competition?”

“Next week, are you going to the Halloween carnival tomorrow?”

“I’m thinkin’ about it. Why can’t they make the carnival before Halloween, not after it?”

Dev couldn’t control his temper anymore. He wanted an answer to his question that Ales was putting off. Apparently; Jamie looked at Dev and got the hint to wrap things up. So she said, “I’ll see you after lunch at the church club, so we can fill out the form,” then left.

“Ally, you skipped history and English, to go to the singing club?”

“Dev, it’s none of your business.” She said, copying Devilen’s posture, that hasn’t changed.

Devilen sighed, giving up being defensive and said, “Yeah, but we had that English test today.”

Alex said a little bit nicer, since she won the battle with Dev, “I’ll make it up during lunch, okay?”

“Fine,” he answered. Then he looked to the floor looking for the right words to say, “So what are you…”

“Alexandra, wait up!” Megan came down the hall panting, and trying to catch her breath. Alex and her just became friends this year, with the help of Joline. She has light brown hair and blueish-grey eyes. She’s always wearing earthy colors too.

“Were going to the mall today, right?” Megan asked.

“Yeah, we’re meeting at my place, okay?”

“Sure,” Meg answered, smiling. And apparently Dev’s question was if Alex had anything planned for today, because right after he heard their conversation, he looked away from Alex and shoved his fist near his mouth to stop himself from saying anything stupid.

This was so boring. I turned to the window and looked at what was going on. The same thing happens every day. Devilen and Alexandra always argue. Zac makes sure that Devilen doesn’t do anything stupid, but get distracted by Jennifer. Megan watches Alexandra and Devilen to make sure that Alex doesn’t kill Devilen, and Joline and I talk about what we’re going to do for the day.
That reminded me to ask about Joline. “Hey, Alex do you know if Joline is still interested in me?”

Zachary said, “I don’t think she can answer you even if she wanted to.”

Megan just added, “She has her mouth full.”

“What do y…” I turned around and I couldn’t believe m eyes. Dev had Alexandra against the lockers, holding her wrists tight so she couldn’t get free, and was KISSING her.

Oh s**t, I thought, he’s going to have an early grave. When he usually kissed her it was either no one was there or nobody knew them. And what made things worse was Devilen’s fan club was right down the hall. There was going to be hell.
The second Devilen backed off; Alexandra’s hand went flying across his face. “You little b*****d! What the hell?” She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand that didn’t slap Devilen across the face.

What Alexandra didn’t notice was the fan club coming down the hall. Lucky for her, Megan was there.

She covered Alex’s mouth before she said something else to get the fan club even madder. And said, “Um Alexandra, I need you top help me fix my makeup.”

Alex took Megan’s hand off her mouth and said, “What are you talking about? You’re not wearing any.”

“That’s why I want you to help me fix my makeup. Come on.”

Megan took Alex by the wrist and led the way to the girls’ bathroom. Then
Devilen’s fan club was flirting with him, and like usual, he ignored it.
I whispered to Zachary, “He’s going to die today if he doesn’t watch it. I have to go, tell Dev my usual warning.”

I was walking down the hall and finally realized that I haven’t seen Jennifer or Joline. I wonder if they’re sick.

Then I walked by the girls’ bathroom and heard three voices. Alex and Joline were arguing, and Megan was trying to stop them. I sighed and shook my head. Joline was, apparently, avoiding me.

That wasn’t going to help her, I thought. She’s going to have to face me sooner or later.

“Oh! Angelo!” I turned around and found, my new girlfriend waving to me. She hugged me and said, “I am so glad you dumped, oh what’s her face, for me.”
Danielle was the girl for me. The kind of girl that doesn’t care if people are watching when she’s showing her affectation. “Yeah, I’m glad I got rid of her, too.”
