Chapter 2: Finding
It was horrible. We didn't know what happened. All we knew is that they were gone. Zoa and I decided to set out to find whoever did this. We took our parents emergency savings and set off. Before we left, we bured down our home and buried our parents. We didn't want any memories of that tragic day. We decided to head to the nearest town, Regulus, and ask about this mysterious person. We arrived to find quite the surprise. Buildings destroyed, bodies laying on the ground. Trees burned down. We rushed to the head office to ask what had happened. As we approached the building, a large man in armor barged out of the building. I stood in front of him and said, "Sir, can you tell me what happened here?" The man looked down at me and said, "That face. That red hair. Tell me boy, are you the son of Haru Dragonhart?" I nodded and he smiled, "Then you two must be Katua and Zoa. Come with me." We followed the man into a large building and we all sat down at a table. He crossed his arms and asked, "So. Why are you two here?" We told him what happened and he sighed, "I see. Your parents feared something like this would happen. I know not who this man is but I-" Zoa interrupted and said, "That's great and all but would you mind telling us what happened here? This town is in shambles!" The man sighed and said, "Alright. I'll tell you."
*flashback*
This man. He came into town from the east carring a giant blood stained sword. A watchman stopped him and asked what buisness he had. According to a witness, the man grabbed his sword and cut the man in half, not saying a word. He advanced into the town and went to the head office. He asked the chief where "He" was. The mayor didn't know what he was talking about. He asked again, receiving the same answer. The man grinned and said, "Then you don't mind if I take a look around then, do you?" In almost an instant an explosion broke out and buildings collapsed and went ablaze. The man went into every home, killing thos who opposed him. Pure slaughter. Soldiers tried to stop him but the fell. He defeated me, the general of the army and then left.
*present*
I paused for a moment. "From the east? Our home was east of here. It's him, I know it. We have to find him." The man sighed and said, "You can't face him unarmed, he'll kill you. Take these. He pulled out a key and unlocked two chests and pulled out a very long katana and a straightsword. He handed me the katana and said, "Katua, this is the katana Muramasa. Wielded by Sephiroth, one of the seven great swordsman." He handed Zoa the other sword and said, "Zoa, this is the sword Gigyas, said to not only contain elemental powers of it's own, but said to amplify mamono powers. They're yours. Find this man and make him pay. May the gods be with you." We thanked the man and left Regulus. As we left Zoa stated, "He said the guy left to the South. That leads to the Lost Woods. Aren't there a tribe of freak insect people there?" I replied, "So they say, no on goes there though. Guess we'll find out." Unknowing of the danger we faced ahead, we followed the trail into the Lost Woods.
